                                              We loved our evening in the romantic, Christmas trimmed tavern style of room. It is a first choice for a family occasion and the celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary was no exception. We adored the main dish of the halibut with the brioche crust. Just sublime. The wait staff are very professional and the manager was also great to us…Highly recommend for your next fine dining occasion.

                                              Perfect evening to celebrate a special birthday! Lovely table, restaurant looked beautiful for the season, the menu was interesting. We had great service, and excellent cocktail, and a wonderful assortment of starters and mains. We had a delicious dessert and a very nice printed souvenir menu. A memorable and extremely pleasant evening. Bravo!

                                              We had one of our best night's out at 1789, in large part due to the exceptional service by Tynisha. She was attentive and made great menu recommendations. We have been to 1789 many times and always appreciate the quality of the food and service. Our most recent visit was inspired by the passing of a dear friend with whom we had dined at 1789. This visit was a perfect way to remember our friend. The dining room was cozy with the fireplace going and decorations for the holiday season. The menu, as usual featured a delicious array of thoughtful dishes that are satisfying and never boring. All put together plus a friendly and professional team made for a memorable night out.

                                              Great service, very attentive. Food was wonderful and ambiance spectacular. We were seated early and near the fireplace which made for a nice cozy dinner on a cool night in DC.

                                              Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and the setting itself festive. The food was beyond delicious. The halibut I ordered was extraordinary, unlike anything I have ever eaten before. Others in our party were very pleased with their selections too.

                                              What a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner we had!! My husband and I enjoyed everything from cocktails at the bar to a delicious prix fixe dinner. Service was impeccable even on a busy holiday night! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you and kudos to the 1789 staff!
