Unfortunately we had a bad experience and will not plan to be back. The menu looks like it will be 5 star and delicious but nothing we ordered was good. The manager was so kind to remove a few meals from our bill so that was so kind. We are local and unfortunately this will not be our go to restaurant.

The restaurant was smaller than I expected, but pretty. They had some really cute alcoves to dine in, for parties of four. The service was excellent, and they have a great wine list. I wasn’t as excited about the cocktail menu, but that’s a matter of taste. The food was good, but not amazing. We had the crispy pork belly appetizer, which was crispy in parts but also very fatty. My husband had the scallops, which were good but not great. I had the ricotta gnocchi, which was unlike any gnocchi I have ever had. It had the look and consistency of day old bread. I would not recommend. Overall it was good, but not great. We probably won’t return.

We went for Christmas dinner! We started off with the fresh oysters, and the crispy pork belly (amazing)! Then I had the Grilled Cesar salad (very well dressed with fresh anchovies. For the main entrees we had 3. First our guest had the Prime Rib (huge portion and cooked perfectly) second we had the Quails ( not the best my wife has had but good), and finally I had the Lobster risotto (1.5 lbs of lobster to include the claws and full tail) the risotto was cooked perfectly and the lobster was as good as I’ve had in Boston! The drinks were great from the Tequila Sunrise, Mojito, and the bartenders favorite flight of Whiskies! I would highly recommend 1799 Kitchen and Cocktails for any special event or just a great evening out!

The best eggs Benedict my husband has ever had. And he eats it a lot! My turkey club was the best hands down sandwich I have ever had. The smoky flavor and the taste of the bacon really set this sandwich apart from others. And the French fries were crisp on the outside without being dry on the inside. The reisling wine was very good as well. We will be back again soon!

We went to 1799 for dinner on Christmas Eve. Service was great. Unfortunately the food was not. I ordered the Filet Oscar and the food came out cold. The broccoli was undercooked and literally cold on the plate like it had been sitting out for a while. The steak was not warm to the touch so I let our server know. She took the plate back to the kitchen. When it came back it was a little better but when I cut into the steak it was medium well. Not the medium rare I had ordered. Very disappointing for a $54 steak.
