I was looking forward to returning after the wonderful experience I had last year, but my visit tonight did not meet my expectations. My mom, brother, and I had an early reservation since we had a scheduled show later, but we quickly noticed that the service was slower than we anticipated. Our drinks were served only after we finished our appetizers, and my coffee was lukewarm. Our server seemed somewhat disengaged, which diminished the overall experience. And for some reason there was a fan or AC being cranked in the dining room right above where we were sitting while it was below 20 degrees outside.
The food quality was okay, except for the Caesar salad, which was not particularly tasty. I truly believe we would have enjoyed the meal more if the service had matched our expectations. While I understand the importance of managing table turnover within a specific timeframe, we hadn’t even reached the two-hour mark when we felt rushed by the end of our meal. It was surprising to receive the check before we had even been served our dessert—tea and espressos—which we ultimately had to ask to be removed from the bill since they were never brought to us. I noticed what I assume was the manager frequently hovering around the dining area, clearly prioritizing table turnover. His insistence on quickly clearing tables, driven by the waiting guests, overshadowed the importance of fostering a more attentive and enjoyable dining atmosphere.
The location is absolutely lovely in the winter, and I appreciate the cozy(besides the temperature control), homey decorations and ambiance. However, after this experience, I don’t think I will be returning.
