Offering elevated modern American cuisine by Chef Javier Lopez, 71Above boasts breathtaking ocean views from Malibu to Laguna Hills, along with spectacular views of Los Angeles and the surrounding mountain ranges. 71Above is a Michelin level experience featuring the finest ingredients, world-class wine list and craft cocktails. The Restaurant and Skylounge have a Smart Casual dress code. Jackets are not required however, no hats, athletic wear, shorts or flip-flops are allowed. Reservations are held for 15 minutes.

71Above features a 3 course Prix-Fixe menu for dinner only. We kindly ask all dining room guests to participate in the coursed menu. Please be aware, any seating requests are noted, but not guaranteed. WINDOW TABLES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. 18% service charge is added to all checks.

Valet is available at 633 W. 5th Street or Self parking is available under the building at 633 W. Hope Place. $15 for 3 hours.

  • 3 Course Dinner in the Dining Room

    Enjoy panoramic views of Los Angeles with this reservation for our 3 course prefix menu in our dining room. WINDOW TABLES ARE NOT GUARANTEED for any reason, but will do our best to accommodate requests. No a la carte menu is available in the dining room and we kindly ask all guests to participate in our 3 course, $103.00 per person menu. An 18% service charge is added to all guests checks and is fully distributed to the hourly restaurant staff. A credit card is necessary to reserve the table but will not be charged unless the party late cancels or no shows. Business casual dress code required. No sports wear, flip flops, shorts or ball caps allowed. Children are welcome but we are a fine dining adult atmosphere.

      The only good thing about this place is the view. The food was disappointing, and the service was terrible. Our table experienced five mistakes during the meal. To top it off, we were charged for two cocktails we didn’t order. They didn’t inform us that ordering a filet mignon would cost an additional $110—an absurd price for what we got. The food overall was overpriced and not worth it. The only dish we enjoyed was the salmon. The service was poor, and despite the beautiful view, it’s not a place I’d recommend. Maybe it’s worth visiting once for the view alone, but that’s it.

      It was my first time and the experience did not disappoint. The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Not to mention, we got to sit facing the beautiful view ( which apparently is hard to get) I would definitely love to come back.

      This is definitely a very nice place to dine! The view is unmatched, especially during a clear day. You can see a good portion of Los Angeles and you can see helicopters flying by. The service here is superb. One of the things that really adds to this place is that the restaurant is probably the only business open in this entire building, making it feel premium! The process to go up to the building feels like a ritual. It is definitely some privilege to enjoy.

      This restaurant was spectacular! The food was exquisite, and the view was phenomenal! The service was top notch, all around. You truly felt like you were royalty there! Highly recommended, and if you get lucky enough to score a window seat, it would be the icing on the cake.

      I enjoyed the lighting, privacy, and views. I liked the ambiance very much much. The food was creative and delicious. I had the Waygu fillet and Caledonian prawns. The downsides were the tables. They were like diner tables, very plane. I nice white linen would pair great. They were all for four too. In such a private and intimate setting, a round, small table would enhance the experience. The service was not on par with a restaurant that proposes to be fine dining. I didn’t receive clear explanations and very little joy in service. I have much better for much less. Drinks were not top shelf. I would not go back if I’m buying.
