   I drove an hour to get up to the restaurant after receiving a confirmation of our reservation. We got up there and apparently they had a booked a private party. I explained that the previous evening we had booked a reservation and had a confirmation. The person who spoke to us said 'oh the internet....they don't know ..... I would not rely on them any more and we said we won't bother to come back and went to Centre Street Deli for a late lunch. I consider it rude how they responded to our question about the reservation. In reality, the person herself was not rude but it is what she said and how she blew us off that annoyed us.

   We reserved a dinner for 6 in Yiddishe Mame 2 days in advance. On the reservation day, 2 hours before the party, the restaurant informed us that the whole place is reserved for another bigger party and our reservation is invalid. I believe that if you accept a reservation you should keep the reservation. I’ll strongly discourage all my friends to reserve meals in Yiddishe Mame via Internet.

   On the day of the reservation, I called the restaurant to see if I could add two friends. The gentleman, and I use that term loosely, told me that a party had booked the entire restaurant for that evening. He told me I missed my Saturday reservation...and I never gave him my name. I told him if he made the mistake, he should rectify it to my satisfaction. He offered me a 9:30 p.m. seating, which was not an amicable solution to me. I congratulated him on how he managed his business. I also advised him that word of mouth could be his best friend, but his worst enemy...I already know a few people who will wait for new ownership/management to take over being paying the restaurant a visit. To that he said good-bye, and hung up.

   They were oblivious to our Open Table confirmed reservation and did not honour it. They did not even speak to us. They just stood there and stared. They are not worthy of Open Table or anyone's business.
