Please note - standard tables are located in our main dining room and covered atrium room. High top tables are in our intimate, cozy wine bar towards the front of the restaurant. You can reserve the chef's counter as well. Walk-in reservations welcome.

A16 is a Michelin rated and James Beard Award Winning restaurant bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. Executive Chef Yosuke Machida carefully selects local, organic produce and meats to prepare a daily menu specializing in wood oven-fired Neapolitan pizza, braised meatballs, vibrant salads, pasta and local meats and seafood dishes. Owner Shelley Lindgren works closely with a well-versed, hospitable service team to bring one of the SF Bay Area's celebrated wine and food destinations.

Really great food from my part. I had short ribs which were tender and cooked perfectly. My husbard ordered a pizza, and while the crust was excellent, he said something about the anchovies tasted "off." He removed them from the pizza and I gave him some of my cippolini to replace them. Would have been a higher score except for the anchovies.

We’ve eaten at this restaurant before and we love the food. The ingredients are always fresh and the menu is quite interesting. I’m probably the only person on the planet that dreams about having trippa. It did not disappoint. However, on this particular occasion, the waiter was absolutely awful. In fact, the little guy that filled our water glasses was more helpful than our waiter. The server never checked on us. He never followed up. It took forever to get the check we still tipped him, but we were very reluctant to do so.

To be fair it was a mob scene and a very loud environment, so it was hard for the service team to communicate in those conditions … but she got the job done … they missed delivering a couple of dishes and we experienced an awkward exchange with a food runner trying to explain/confirm something in broken English and we just had to nod in the affirmative until he left the salad and went away … small stuff in the big picture … food was totally great except for an undercooked mushroom pizza (and the fava purée with dandelion green was under seasoned) but the pork chop and short rib were excellent … love the place and will definitely return

We had dinner last night at A16 after our company event, table of 6, treating our clients and colleagues. The dinner was at 9 pm, the place was as usual still busy, service was good and attentive, food was as expected yummy. I was glad we picked the right restaurant to treat our clients and business partners. A16 is always one of the top choices in the Marina district.
