Takeout or Delivery available at a16pizza.com from noon to 9 pm.

Please note - standard tables are located in our main dining room and covered atrium room. High top tables are in our intimate, cozy wine bar towards the front of the restaurant. You can reserve the chef's counter as well. Walk-in reservations welcome.

A16 is a Michelin rated and James Beard Award Winning restaurant bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. Executive Chef Yosuke Machida carefully selects local, organic produce and meats to prepare a daily menu specializing in wood oven-fired Neapolitan pizza, braised meatballs, vibrant salads, pasta and local meats and seafood dishes. Owner Shelley Lindgren works closely with a well-versed, hospitable service team to bring one of the SF Bay Area's celebrated wine and food destinations.

I have dined at A16 for many years now. Infrequently at best. When I want to eat Italian but my favorite pizza place, Pazzia is closed on Sundays. I absolutely dislike how noisy A16 is. I feel compelled to eat quickly and leave. I adore the appetizers, including salads. Pizza is ok. Pasta is lovely. Deserts are hit or miss. Service is efficient which is great because the noise levels start getting to you.

Utensils has lipstick marks on it. The waiter can be more attentive.

the food was amazing! went on a friday night so I get it was busy but the service was bad. would still go back though

I travel the globe, and consider A16 a "must do" every time when in San Francisco. It has a fun balance of professional/friendly staff and high quality dishes. Would give it more Stars if I could !

Okay so this place is so good I had to come back twice within 2 weeks it’s so bad. This place is bad for my wallet but great for my tummy. THEY HAVE THE MOST AMAZING AMBIANCE you cannot tell me otherwise. The first time I came here I was unfortunately a bit hungover and unwell (it was January 1st) and I almost didn’t make it to dinner but when I did the amazing wine collection they have on the side of the restaurant forced me to order some. I got the lamb pasta and it was MAGNIFICENT. My taste buds literally were in heaven and it was the most flavorful, light and YUMMY YUMMY dish ever. Highly revienne that one. The second time I came here I got a pizza with spicy salami and a the gnocci. Unfortunately the service that day was really slow despite us making a reservation stil. but I do not blame them because it was raining and it was PACKED in there and the outdoor seating didn’t have enough room. I don’t remember her name but we had this FANTASTIC waitress who was super knowledgeable about the wine and pairings and I really wish I could remember her name but she is tall and brunette and was awesome!

Clarify your reservation is actually inside and not in the back outside covered patio with cold chairs and a heat lamp. We all felt like we had to wear our jackets the entire meal. Servers prioritized the inside. Service was absent most of our meal on the patio. When I asked about the reservation being inside they told me the outside plastic covering made it technically inside. I sent the rest of my review privately.
