This place was highly recommended to me. I made reservations, which seemed unnecessary as we were seated promptly 15 minutes prior to our scheduled time. The host failed to acknowledge the note regarding our first-time visit and a birthday, which was disappointing. As a host myself, I understand the importance of making guests feel welcome and a good first impression. We were seated at a two-person table with a clear view of the pizza oven. The table was uneven and required adjustment which our server graciously fixed. He promptly asked for our drink orders without introducing himself. When I inquired about the most popular cocktail, he quickly said the Pear Thyme Martini and proceeded to place the order without further discussion or checking my ID. I enjoyed the cocktail despite not wanting to order it. We ordered calamari and pepperoni pizza to share, which were both delicious. The pepperoni pizza was cooked to perfection in the wood-fired oven, with the right balance of cheese, sweetness, and savory flavors. Our server seemed overwhelmed, despite the restaurant nit being at capacity. We struggled to get his attention to request red pepper flakes. We ordered two pasta dishes, which took a considerable amount of time to arrive, despite the restaurant not being busy. We were on the verge of leaving when the food finally arrived. Our server did not check in on us during this time, and we were left without drinks and water. There was an extensive wine list and I would have ordered a glass to pair with my pasta, but I never had the chance to! Another server finally replaced our water and cleared the table. Although the food was delicious, the poor service left a negative impression. We were looking forward to ordering dessert, I even brought a candle but our server's inattentiveness prompted us to request the check and leave. Perhaps our server, Michael which we found out upon receiving the receipt, was having an off night, but it’s unlikely that we will return.
