I made a reservation at this restaurant on 11/21for me and my mom to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted with a friendly greeter, got to pick a nice table, and ordered our drinks and food and everything came within a reasonable time. Things began to take a turn south when it came to paying the bill. The server handed me the machine and I paid the bill and the machine indicated that the payment was successful but their machine was taking longer than usual. I informed the waiter and her then took 10 minutes to get back to us as he said he was going to troubleshoot, but instead was waiting on the other tables. We called another individual from the bar and he proceeded to ask me to pay again when I had already paid my bill. Things got really weird when he then asked me to whip out my TD bank account app to show him the confirmation number of my purchase, to which I reminded him that a confirmation number wouldn’t show up until at least 24 hours after the purchase, to which he disputed and disagreed. He then asked to take a picture of my private banking information to which I declined. He then insisted on watching me navigate my TD account which was a violation of my privacy on an extreme level, but I did not want to be double charged for a dinner (mind you a birthday dinner) so I told the server to check the machine again and with one click of a button he then says “Oh, it just got approved now”. It’s a shame because the food and service was wonderful until this point, and it’s a shame that my moms birthday had to end this way. There was no compensation for the almost half an hour of time lost, to which we were just given a pathetic “sorry” and nothing more. I don’t see myself returning to dine in at least for the foreseeable future. Please let your workers know that an invasion of privacy to this or any level for that matter is not a part of a fine dining experience at all. I’m sad to leave this review because we were looking forward to this dinner all week.
