There is no denying that the Afternoon Tea was good value for money. There seemed to be only one lady working and she was busy, but attentive throughout.
The let down was the coffee - it was instant and had no taste at all. A shame when the tea was Yorkshire Tea.
Although we managed to swap our sandwiches between us, we didn't get any choice in filling, it was set, so this is something to keep in mind if you are not a fan of Ham & Mustard, Salmon & Cream Cheese, Cheese or Egg.
The sausage rolls were lovely, but the goats cheese tart was awful to be honest, it had runny cheese, no flavour and we couldn't recall the additional filling but it seemed to be fig maybe, or something of that nature. For such a small tart, there was no flavour at all.
We had endless opportunities for more tea and coffee, so no complaints there and when we asked for tap water we got a bottle of it so that too was good. All the desserts were lovely, no complaints there at all.
The room we were in wasn't busy, only three tables occupied and we were one of them. I would say it's a little dated with chairs that are a little creaky, but overall it was clean and as one of the tables had a large family with children, the lady who was doing everything, moved us from our original table when originally seating us, to give us a little space (and ensuring it was a little quieter too) - this was a nice touch and considerate.
At then end it was odd, everyone had disappeared and we had no clue where to pay etc. but we went to the bar and paid there. Personally I wouldn't rush back, but it is definitely worth a try to see for yourself and as mentioned at the beginning, definitely value for money in terms of cost.
