A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Wednesday through Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Wednesday through Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

    Seatings Fridays/Thursdays at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm. Weekends at 11:00 am, 1pm, 3pm - 90-minute seating. $72 per adult, $40 per child aged 12 and under - price not inclusive of taxes and gratuities. Cancellation policy & reservation changes: kindly email HVC.Notch8@Fairmont.com a minimum of 48 hours prior to reservation to avoid a cancellation fee of $25 per person.

    The most wonderful time of the year is upon us. What better way to enjoy an afternoon with friends and family than a festive afternoon tea experience at Notch8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Indulge in delectable savoury fare, scones, and sweets made by our in-house pastry shop. If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children’s Tea that includes kid-friendly finger sandwiches, cookies, scones, and other delicious treats. It is sure to be an afternoon to remember. 90-minutes per seating. Cancellation policy and reservation changes: Kindly email the Festive Reservations Team at HVC.FestiveDesk@fairmont.com a minimum of 72 hours prior to the reservation to avoid a cancellation fee of $25 per person.

    The afternoon tea at Fairmont Vancouver Notch8 is overrated. Savoury sandwiches were dry and not enough fillings. desserts taste cold, rough...just poor quality for that price range , it is totally unacceptable. there are way better options in Vancouver.

    Really disappointed in the substitutions made for a dairy allergy. “Sandwiches” we’re 2x slices of cucumbers with topping, 1x store bought tortilla chip with salsa, 1/4 slice of bread with sliced meat and fig jam and 1/4 mini sandwich. This high tea used to be spectacular, but it fell short, especially for the high price point. Other high teas are making better substitutions.

    The holiday high tea was wonderful. The only caveat was that we didn't know there was a time limit for how long we were able to be there. I understand the need to ensure people don't linger too long, given how popular the high tea experience is, but I would have liked to have known how much time we had. It came as a surprise when we were told that 75 minutes were all we had, and that they were up. Otherwise, an outstanding holiday experience.

    Lovely room. Service was good. The food, however, was not very good! Some of the savouries were oddly sweet, the scones were dry. The sweets were pretty good. Some of the items had odd flavour choices. They were a little tardy getting us seated, but very prompt at ushering us out at the allotted time. Disappointed for the hefty price tag.

    One of the best afternoon teas I’ve had. The food was delicious- the lobster roll my favorite savory. The service was everything high tea should be- attentive yet not intrusive. The setting is unexpected, and felt festive. The sweets- as gorgeous as they were tasty. Highly recommend.

    This was an incredible high tea experience in a hidden gem within the Fairmont hotel. Estella provided exceptional and attentive service, accommodating my food allergies with care. The ambiance was elegant and beautifully decorated for winter, though we learned the decor changes frequently, offering a fresh surprise with each visit. Each guest selects one tea flavor, with the option to add a cocktail or bubbles for an additional charge. The food is served in a classic tiered setup: savory items on the bottom, scones and biscuits in the middle, and desserts on top. We overheard another table request extra savory items in advance (when making their reservation, not day of), which the restaurant accommodated—something to note if you prefer more savory or sweet options to plan ahead for. The portions were generous for 2; after enjoying a large breakfast at 8 AM, the 3 PM high tea left us completely satisfied without needing dinner or late-night snacks. Highly recommend this delightful experience!
