The Akira Back restaurant on the waterfront of The Grandscape Development of The Colony, TX is modern Japanese cuisine with 5-star service. This innovative concept was created by Michelin Star award winning Chef Akira Back. As a former professional snowboarder, Chef Back's passion is to provide a food and beverage experience that is unique and leaves people emotionally connected with aspects of his food, personality, and life.

The Akira Back restaurant prides itself on creating innovative culinary experiences combined with a social atmosphere and elegant ambiance. The Akira Back restaurants consist of 20 locations in 9 different countries with many additional locations set to open in the next 12 months.

Visited in the day before they close shop. Sad the Nazos 9 wasn't available. Enjoyed the yuzu sour & fruity pebbles cocktail. Tried the tuna pizza which was great with the yuzu sour. I enjoyed the eggplant miso. Enjoyed the mixed mushrooms a bit less. Chef sampler was a bit disappointing. The knife work was not pretty and the fish quality was fresh but also just OK. Not worth $85 in my opinion. Complimentary mago sake & lime sherbet for our celebration was a sweet gesture.

Fantastic restaurant with some of the best food in Texas. And impeccable service. It is such a shame that it will be closing in a few days.

Took my wife here for a date and man it was amazing! I basically looked up best sushi spots in DFW and when this popped up I thought it looked interesting. I never expected to love it as much as I did. I had what I think is the best cocktail I’ve ever had and finally got to try legit wagyu. It was all incredible, my wife and I definitely plan on going back.

We had a great time at Akira Back!! The food was incredible (we did the tasting menu) and we left very full!! Additionally, Jeremy was a great server and made our experience more enjoyable :)

Did the seasonal tasting. Was amazing - had an assortment of cold and hot dishes. Sushi and sashimi were excellent. Handroll and bao were great, too.
