ÀLAVITA is all about fresh pasta and local ingredients—from Agnolotti to Tortellini to Garganelli, Linguini to Pappardelle—created freshly every day using Northwest flour and local eggs. A restaurant whose name means “to life,” (Well actually two words– ‘alla’ ‘vita’ –that we put together to create one) ÀLAVITA is a great place for celebrating life with good friends and family alike.                                                                                       We have been dining here since it opened. It’s evolving beautifully with the growth of Boise. The atmosphere, service and menu are consistently welcoming, consistently comforting yet fresh. We have our favorite menu items and there is always an interesting new dish or twist somewhere to try. The most extraordinary thing about this restaurant, however, is the consistent staff. This is a big deal. It means the back of the house must have some agency, they must be taken care of well. It means they genuinely know what they’re serving, care about your comments, questions, critiques.  It is no longer common to have a restaurant experience where a team are doing work they’re proud of, and to the best of their abilities, presenting it to you . Also, Justin was our server last night and he was fan-freaking fantastic !!! Explained everything well, never made us feel rushed, seemed super competent and relaxed.

                                                                                      Tables can be quite close to the bar so that conversations are not private and fellow diners can listen in. We also felt pressured by the manager to hurry and finish by a certain time when we arrived for our reservation 10 min late. We understand the importance of staying on schedule but we felt pressured. Food is great but not with pressure to finish haha!

                                                                                      The food here never misses, it's really good. The service has also always been great. The only thing I'd recommend is updating the very dated early 2000's Will and Grace or Sex and the City decor. Other than that, this place is always great.

                                                                                      Can't beat their pasta and sauces. My husband and I had the tagliatelle with the bolognese and the pappardelle with spice sausage, both excellent. My mother had the chicken piccata with pasta on the side, delicious! I love the grilled artichoke appetizer although a little pricy for what you get. Otherwise the meal portions are generous. The cocktails were unique and delicious as well. Highly recommen!
