Located in The Plaza Hotel complex, Alder Café Bar guarantees delicious food, excellent cocktails & wine and professional friendly service, every time. Our guests are greeted with an assortment of freshly baked scones, delicious handmade sandwiches and our selection of delicate desserts. Accompanying this trio, we have a fabulous, wide range of hand-selected teas. Afternoon tea bookings must be booked 48 hours in advance and is served from 1pm – 5pm daily For groups of 6+ people a deposit is required and you will be contacted by the reservations team after the confirmation of your reservation.

The Alder Cafe Bar is the perfect destination for a festive lunch or dinner, whether corporate, with friends or a family occasion. Experience available from 29th of November until 23rd of December. Specially created for the Festive Season the 3 Course Set Menu includes festive choices to celebrate the season. For groups of 6+ people a deposit is required and you will be contacted by the reservations team after the confirmation of your reservation.

                                                          Have eaten here twice now and food has been really good on both occasions. There is a good choice available and the portion size is very substantial and therefore value for money. Only criticism I would give is that the service can be a little slow even when it's not busy....having said that, I will return.

                                                          Lovely food but place was empty. Which was odd on a bank holiday Monday. Staff was great and couldn't fault anything but would of been nice to have other customers there.

                                                          Alder Café Bar was very good. My issue is with OpenTable. When I clicked on Afternoon Tea to book, I was directed to the calendar and made my booking in the usual way. However upon arriving at Alder Café I was told that the table was for a table only, not Afternoon Tea. Imaging my disappointment for me and my friend. So for anybody booking I would advise to phone the Café and not use OpenTable.
