Alo is a contemporary French restaurant located atop a heritage building in downtown Toronto. Our cuisine is internationally inspired and celebrates the finest in seasonal ingredients paired with a genuine sense of welcome, served as a blind tasting menu.

The Bar at Alo is adjacent to our main dining room and offer à la carte options as well as a shortened seasonal tasting menu.

    Join us in our dining room for a new tasting menu that features the best ingredients we can source. Our menu is internationally inspired and prepared using classic French technique. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegan/vegetarian tasting menus, dairy/egg allergies, seafood allergies or aversion to raw meat/seafood. If there are any dietary concerns within your party, please reach out to info@alorestaurant.com at your earliest convenience before booking a reservation. The tasting menu is offered at $225 per guest and does not include beverages, service charge and tax. Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance will be charged the full price of the tasting menu per guest.

    Our Kitchen Counter features bar-style seating and faces our open kitchen for an engaging dining experience. The Kitchen Counter offers a blind multi-course tasting menu, including luxurious menu items and special courses from our Chefs. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegan/vegetarian tasting menus, dairy allergies, seafood/shellfish allergies, or aversions to raw meat/seafood.     Alo's private dining room, equipped with its own bar and kitchen, offers a six-course tasting-menu for up to 14 guests. This unique dining experience begins with a cocktail reception featuring a glass of sparkling wine and a trio of canapés. The pricing for this experience is $295 per guest exclusive of beverages, HST & 20% service charge. Wine pairings are available for an additional $125 per guest. Our private dining room is also available to be booked for lunches.     For a Michelin star this place was very underwhelming. The food was not up to what I’d expect for a fine dining experience and the amount of money we paid. The server was great though, the wine options were great and the food was not worth the price for sure.

    This is what a restaurant of this caliber should be doing: wow you all the way! Kudos to the "brigade", an amazing culinary experience that you do not find everywhere. The price tag is proportional, but still worth trying without hesitation. Not to forget a great wine pairing outside of the usual known path.

    Went for my 53rd birthday. All 9 courses of the food were excellent which isn’t always the case with a tasting menu. We had the wine pairings which were hit and miss, but were worth the extra cost as they did a good job introducing some unique finds. The service was excellent - great job service team. They moved smoothly in and around without being intrusive. I also really appreciate the faint 70s heavy metal playlist in the background. Just loud enough that you could hear when a song that you loved long ago came on and made you smile.
