Classic steakhouse meals define the cuisine at Al’s: certified Angus beef, fresh fish, a variety of delicious appetizers and salads fill the menu. It’s perfectly complemented by classic cocktails, an extensive wine list, and uncompromising service.

Al’s is the first and only restaurant in Ottawa to cook its beef on live charcoal, giving steaks their distinctive signature taste. Al’s famous garlic salad dressing is included on a starter salad with most meals, and is bottled and sold in-house and in grocery stores throughout the city.
Open daily for lunch and dinner Al’s has ample free parking, can host over 100 diners in private events, and features a menu that will satisfy all tastes.

Was a little sad they had run out of the Tomahawk steak but the server made a great alternative recommendation. The food was amazing and our server was so sweet! The tables are a little small even for two people and too close to other tables, I felt like I was on a double date with how close the couple sitting at the table beside us was. Not sure if it was the owner or just a manger but there was an older gentleman that came up to our table 4 different times to ask if everything was ok, was a little excessive considering we had our server coming up asking us the same thing as well.

Our table/placement wasn’t great even though many other better tables were free the entire time we were there; but otherwise the experience was very good. Food was wonderful! Their salad dressing is fantastic!

LOVED TTHE RELAXED ATMOSPHERE. OUR STEAKS WERE PERFECT WITH THE SIDES WE ORDERED. LOVED THE QUIET AMBIENCE. THE SERVERS WERE AMAZING AND ATTENTIVE. WE WILL COME AGAIN

We had an early reservation at 3:15 on Saturday after an early movie to see A Complete Unknown at noon. Btw if you are interested it was a good movie. We both had steak Frits and oysters as an appetizer. I asked our server if rare was rare and wouldn’t be blue and she recommended the chefs as they get their sear perfectly, it was. My friend had medium and it also was spot on. The fries were hot and good, my usual experience at restaurants the fries are warm at the best. The peppercorn sauce was fantastic. Our server was a delightful young lady I wish I could remember her name, hopefully given my reservation time they will be able to know who she was and let her know her service was appreciated. I would go back there in a flash.
