Alter House Restaurant and Bar is a family owned Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Event Venue dedicated to seasonal, sustainable cuisine. It is our culinary mission to source the finest ingredients from regional farmers, artisan purveyors and local farms whenever possible. Here at Alter House Restaurant and Bar, sustainability is the forefront of our identity. The seasons will define our menu. Our goal at Alter House is to be the restaurant of choice in Northeast Pennsylvania. Our aim is to provide our guests with unique culinary offerings paired with incredible service, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. We hold ourselves to the highest possible standard of excellence for food and service, dedicating ourselves to these core values and principles.     Whether it’s catering out a private event, a special dinner for two or a small gala, our team will make sure it’s memorable. Our main space is a perfect setting for private dining events that range from 12 to 70 people. Depending on the size of the event, the restaurant space can be divided to accommodate large party dinners. Private dining menus are customized by our talented Culinary Team from seasonally-inspired offerings. Our Outdoor Tented Patio and the Private Dining Room located adjacent to the Alter House Restaurant is ideal for daytime business meetings, bereavements, corporate dinners, social celebrations and cocktail receptions.     Great food and ambiance- I’m gluten and dairy free and the staff is great at accommodating my needs- I love burgers and ate the smash burger over salad- this means the flavor of the burger is really important (no added cheese, sauce etc) the flavor of the Alter House smash burger was out of this world! I also love their creative cocktails and wine list.

    We’ve been here a few times and have loved everything every single time. This time, we had Alyssa as our server who was attentive and sweet. Hayden also passed by our table a few times to make sure everything was up to par. The cocktails were fantastic and the food was delicious. Can’t wait to come back.

    Great food, great drinks, awesome service, beautiful dining area. So much to like. Love that they have great Old Fashioneds on the drink menu. Pork chops are amazing and we always get the charcuterie board!

    This was our first visit to Alter House and it was a great experience. Our server, Alyssa, was upbeat and very welcoming. There was a great selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails. The menu selections were well plentiful and all looked delicious.
