At Amber India in downtown San Francisco, we blend the rich traditions of North Indian cuisine with a modern dining experience. Our menu features favorites like butter chicken, aromatic biryanis, and tandoori specialties, all crafted with authentic spices and techniques. Whether you prefer vegetarian dishes or hearty meats, there's something for everyone.

Our three-story restaurant, with vaulted ceilings and a lively LED light show behind the bar, offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. We can host up to 140 guests, with a private dining room for gatherings of up to 25. Located near Union Square, Amber India is ideal for a casual meal or special celebration.

I had arranged a business meeting for dinner. The restaurant decor and ambience was very conducive to a productive discussion. It was a bit loud, but that had no real impact. We were very happy with the selection and quality of the food and drink.

Always a great time to come and have dinner here. Brought some work colleagues and everyone was very very impressed with the flavors in the food. Tried a couple of new things this time round and the Strett Park Cauliflower and the Citrus Sea Bass did not disappoint! Great service, good drinks. Brilliant.

We have dined at this establishment a handful of times. It’s always a pleasure. On our most recent date, they were out of the salmon and our waitstaff suggested another dish. It was a wonderful chicken curry dish. It made me forget what I originally wanted. Nevertheless, if it’s your first time, get the butter chicken.

We had SUCH a great time at Amber India. The ambiance is great, the food and drinks are yummy, and the staff are all top notch. Thanks again to Nemira and to all of you for an excellent overall experience!

I was very impressed about this place. I moved my reservation 3 times as I was coming from Napa valley and traffic was heavy. They were able to accommodate without issues. Additionally I mentioned in open table I was coming with a toddler and that we would be celebrating my bother’s birthday. Since I moved the reservation 3 times I didn’t say any about the BD but when I arrived to my table the high chair was already there and at the moment to ask for the bill a birthday cake came for my brother. It was pleasant that I didn’t had to do anything and they really read the comments in my reservation even though I moved it 3 times.

We came with a large party for birthday(s). I was so proud of the service and so happy with the excellent food. Amber has been my go-to for business and personal entertaining for years.
