Inspired by Texas’ deep-rooted history of cattle ranches, Ambler Texas Kitchen + Cocktails serves as a culinary tribute to its beloved Lone Star State.

Ambler, true to its character, is as bold in flavor as it is in design. The restaurant’s subtle masculine-yet-approachable interiors gives way to the bright and cheerful ambiance of San Antonio’s iconic Riverwalk. Offering vibrant flavors and jaw-dropping views 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

                                                                    I booked my reservation at 7:15 but wasn't seated until closer to 7:30. The restaurant was LOUD and with indoor space being on the smaller side, the noise was amplified. We sat across a big group that wasn't mindful of the other diners. Once we sat down, it took over 10 minutes for the waiter to come and check up on us. Our drink order took long and overall, the food was okay at best. I was in town for a conference, so I am disappointed I spent my time at such a mediocre place.

                                                                    We had a lovely spot on the patio that allowed us to watch the St. Patricks boat parade, a wedding and a proposal all while enjoying each others company and having a fairly romantic evening. Wonderful service, yummy craft cocktails and delicious food.

                                                                    Food was delivered cold and the chicken was delivered with gravy after we asked for it on the side. Everyone was nice, but it wasn’t worth the price.

                                                                    Mohamed was an absolute rockstar! The food was delicious (steaks were cooked PERFECTLY) and the ambiance was inviting and comfortable. 10/10 will be back next time I visit San Antonio!

                                                                    Muhammad was an outstanding server. The hostess seating us was very gracious and energetic. Menu is a bit limited to my liking. The chicken fried steak was done well but sauce was too heavy. Meatloaf was also good. Cesar salad had too much dressing and it was too thick. Please lighten it up. Sitting outside was a lovely experience along the river with soft lighting and beautiful patio.

                                                                    The scenery overlooking the Riverwalk was very beautiful, and offered a lovely ambiance. Service was fair, with the main feedback centered on timeliness and a few strange interactions (we had a weird encounter that when we left our dirty utensils on the plate to be removed, our waitress took our plates, took a few steps, and came back and asked us to retain them, which me and my wife found odd since they were dirty from our appetizer. The server did give us a new set however after we requested a pair when our entrees arrived. Food was fair overall, the chilaquiles felt a bit heavy on lime, and the pancakes were a bit undercooked and grainy, however the avocado toast was very tasty.
