Inspired by Texas’ deep-rooted history of cattle ranches, Ambler Texas Kitchen + Cocktails serves as a culinary tribute to its beloved Lone Star State.

Ambler, true to its character, is as bold in flavor as it is in design. The restaurant’s subtle masculine-yet-approachable interiors gives way to the bright and cheerful ambiance of San Antonio’s iconic Riverwalk. Offering vibrant flavors and jaw-dropping views 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Eat outside and enjoy the boats going by. Especially fun to see the boats lighted and playing Christmas music. Very festive! Our wine and food was delicious and our server, Mohammed was so courteous and efficient! All was good!

Disappointing Experience Unfortunately, my recent visit fell short of expectations. The food was undercooked, which made it difficult to enjoy. While the ambiance/service was okay not impressed. The quality of the dishes needs significant improvement. I hope this was an off day for the kitchen, as the potential for better is there.

Enjoyed a nice meal among the beautiful holiday decor of Hotel Contessa. Patio seating is available under the lights of the riverwalk, adjacent to marriage island. Steaks were delicious Japanese Akaushi beef cooked to perfection and the creme brulee is a must. Valet parking will be validated for all Ambler patrons and if you are lucky, the ducks will visit on the patio.

Meatloaf was excellent! The fried green tomatoes were delicious but I didn’t enjoy the like pickle spice flavor. The fries are homemade and good. I had the BBQ sauce topping on my meatloaf and it was so good. However there is not a lot to choose from.

What an amazing Thanksgiving feast! We thought we’d be choosing 1 starter, 1 entree & 2 sides from the Ambler Thanksgiving menu, but know, we were served EVERYTHING ON THE MENU. Our server, Francisco, was extremely attentive & obviously a very professional experienced waiter, we wanted for nothing and thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the great food, ambiance & service!
