Been here for several times but this time it wasn’t pleasant as the server keep on asking if we’re done with our food. I understand that people are queue but we’re set for 1 hour and 30 minutes but it wasn’t even an hour. Not only that, my thali set came 15 minutes after I finished my starter which quite distressing. Mind you that it’s my birthday dinner. I am not sure if I want to come back

REFUSED SERVICE BECAUSE OF AN ALLERGY. I have never in my life been to a less hospitable, less accommodating restaurant. 35 minutes after sitting down and having a drink, the waitress went to take our order and we disclosed a ‘mild peanut allergy but cross contamination isn’t an issue’. She told us she couldn’t take our order, and that “every dish has peanuts in it”. Completely perplexed, we asked to speak to a manager. A man came over and reiterated there were peanuts in every dish. We turned through the 8 pages of menu, all which had allergies clearly labelled on them (the majority of which didn’t have peanuts labeled) and we asked how that’s possible. The ‘manager’ then kept saying “cross contamination”, and we assured him that wasn’t an issue (we just wanted a bunch of curries). We’re both in the restaurant industry and said we understand that, and that we’d be happy with a curry, and that we understand chaat often has peanuts. They said there was nothing they could do. So 9:20 PM on a Wednesday night of our anniversary and we’re on the street with nowhere to eat dinner. Still kind of in shock days later. How were we not informed about the fact that they didn’t allow people to dine with allergies, on their menu, or when you make a reservation, or when you’re sat for 35 minutes. Absolutely despicable, so many other worthy restaurants that deserve your money.

Hi, My wife and I had a lovely meal, lovely food and good value for money. We also tried your restaurant in Marlborough Street some time back and also found that very good. Our waitress Amisha was very pleasant and professional and helped with our questions. We are have booked a family dinner for 8 people on Saturday April 19th , in Abbey Street which we are looking forward to.

Literally, Andhra Bhavan losing its charm from the initial days in terms of food taste, respecting customers, price of the food which is not worth and overrated feels. I hope they will get back in giving good food taste and respect to the customers especially to indian customers.

Certainly! Here’s a well-structured version of your review: I had a very disappointing experience at the Abbey Street branch. It was my first time visiting, and I chose this location to celebrate my birthday. However, from the moment we sat down, the staff started tracking our time. Nowhere in my booking was it mentioned that the table would be limited to just 90 minutes. We ordered starters, and almost immediately, a staff member came to take our main course order. When I mentioned that we had just ordered starters and didn’t want to rush, they assured us that they would bring the main course whenever we were ready. Despite this, they served it much earlier than requested—before we had even finished our starters. When I told them we weren’t ready for the main course, they took it away but later brought it back completely cold. Even though I had booked the table in advance, the staff kept pressuring us to eat quickly and leave. When someone goes out to celebrate with friends, they should be allowed to enjoy their time without feeling rushed. In contrast, I frequently visit the Marlborough Street branch, and I have never faced such an issue there. Even when I celebrated my birthday at that location, the staff allowed us to enjoy our time peacefully. The food was also served fresh and hot. Overall, my experience at the Abbey Street branch was very disappointing, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed dining experience.

It's a great place to have authentic south Indian meals. I was for a Business Dinner, the guest was really impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food served and the staff etiquette.
