I don’t usually leave reviews, good or bad experiences, but this experience was very frustrating.
My girlfriend and I showed up for our reservation on a Saturday night and were seated by the hostess who was very friendly. We then sat at our table for 20 minutes while other tables around us were served and a table that was seated after us was as well. Nobody had acknowledged us for 20 minutes even though many of the staff had been in there to wait on other tables. I finally had to go up to the hostess and let her know nobody had been over to us and she apologized and sent someone over.
My girlfriend has celiac disease so she can not eat Gluten or anything that is cross contaminated. When the food runner who brought our food showed up he did not mention that her pasta was gluten free so we asked him just to confirm the pasta she ordered was indeed the gluten free one. He did not seem to understand what we were asking and was not very reassuring that it was gluten free. We decided to wait for our waiter before she ate just to confirm with him.
Unfortunately our waiter never came back to our table to check on us for 45 minutes, by the time we pulled another staff member aside to ask about the pasta, my girlfriends food was already cold long ago. It was very frustrating because we saw our server and others waiting on tables around us but did not even look our way and we did not want to make a scene by interrupting others experiences. When our server eventually came by to give us the check, he apologized for the service and thanked us for being patient but did not even attempt to make things right with any sort of discount or anything after we were clearly frustrated.
The whole experience made us feel like we were invisible when the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. The staff were very kind when we did interact with them, unfortunately that was not very often.
