ARTISAN celebrates the theme of craftsmanship, combining 18th Century classic Scandinavian design with New England-inspired farm-to-table seasonal cuisine, artfully prepared by Executive Chef and Partner Frederic Kieffer.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
If you have reserved a table outdoors, please be advised that in the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your party inside at the same reservation time, however we cannot guarantee a table inside at the same exact time and may need to adjust the reservation time accordingly.

    Come ring in the New Year with us at Artisan! We will provide 2 seating formats. 1st seating takes place between 5pm-7pm and a special a la carte menu will be provided. If you join us from 8:30pm and later, we will providing our NYE Gala Menu. Our Gala menu is 5 courses and is $175pp. This will include a champagne toast at midnight and live music! Our menu is posted on the website. We do kindly require a credit card to book holiday reservations with us. We look forward to ringing in 2025 with you!

    We have dined at Artisan West Hartford quite a few times in recent years. The food and service have always been top notch! We decided to do the Christmas Day experience, and although the food was outstanding the whole event left a lot to be desired. Our reservation was for 6:30pm, and when we arrived, there were approximately a dozen people waiting to be seated for their reservation. We had to wait 35 minutes to be seated. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE for such a top-notch establishment. It seems that Artisan either overbooked this event or was unexpectedly short-handed in the kitchen. The wait staff was frenzied and could not deliver the kind of high quality service we've come to expect from this establishment. I sure hope Artisan holds a "lessons learned" post-mortem on what went wrong with this event. We will continue to dine there again, of course, but I probably won't make a reservation for another event based upon the Christmas Day 2023 fiasco.

    We went to Artisan for Christmas dinner. The food was outstanding, as always, but there were a few things that detracted from the overall experience. First, they seemed understaffed, as it took a long time to get service and a very long time to get our wine order. The food came out in a timely way, but it took a very long time to get the bill paid and resolved. Our server was very nice, but seemed to have too much to do. On another note, we ate in the porch area and it was a bit cold out there. We have eaten out there before in winter and didn't have that situation. Perhaps it was just a colder than average night.

    Service and attention was wonderful. The veal porterhouse ordered was fatty and tough. It was so tough the significant steak knife provided would not cut through the meat for all the fat. It was our Christmas meal so not the day to send anything back.

    Food was absolutely outstanding, excellent service and ambiance. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner and experience as first timers at Artisan. Will be returning!!

    Food was prepared well but the overall experience was average due to an entree listed on the daily menu not being available for a 7pm seating and then the same thing for a dessert item. (Keep in mind that the menu changes daily so you would expect the items.) Bread served was stale. Service was lacking efficiency and seemed somewhat confused; no follow-up to see how the meal was progressing. Ambiance was average. Lounge area prior to being seated was noisy. Wine selection okay at typical markup. Overall, a nice experience that seemed average for what was supposed to be fine dining.

    We were celebrating our anniversary at Artisan., and it was a very special experience. The food was outstanding -- everything cooked to perfection. Our server, Georgia, was excellent -- attentive, personable, and always there at just the right moment. Artisan is one of those rare restaurants where the acoustics in the dining room are designed in such a way that adults can conduct a conversation in a normal tone of voice -- most welcome! West Hartford is filled with excellent restaurants, but Artisan is truly a cut above. We will be returning soon.

    Interesting food, always excellently prepared. Service is always polite, and the ambiance very pleasant. My favorite West Hartford restaurant.
