B&L Diner is a market-driven concept created by Chef Franklin Becker and Restaurateur Stephen Loffredo. The menu features comfort food crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing a commitment to whole foods and real flavors through seasonal specials.
Next door, B&L Bakery serves as the diner’s artisanal counterpart. Chef Romina Peixoto creates a daily selection of freshly baked treats that balance quality and craftsmanship in every bite.
God this was terrible. The wait time to place an order, the wait time for food to arrive at the table, the level of service, the professionalism of service, how over-staffed they were yet still there were issues with the service.
The wine glasses (two of them) had dishwasher gunk on them, the burger was luke warm when it came to the table, we ordered the Thanksgiving TV Dinner which was completely weak for anyone's standards; the turkey was thickly sliced deli meat. This was not turkey. For this "turkey dinner", a $68 prix fixe, it was the value and flavor of an empty cardboard box.
There was some sort of waiter switch for our table even before we ordered which made our options for getting service to the table (to order another glass of wine after an hour of only having a brussel sprout salad at the table) to flag down a kitchen runner or a shift manager who was also not so attentive.
Why did I call the restaurant over the phone to confirm the reservation when we were sat in the bar section? Why did I see The Press Club photos on Open Table when I was making a reservation only to be fed a luke-warm burger and deli turkey? Why did I go out of my way in good faith for this restaurant to ensure that we were going to be good guests and the food was hopefully going to be satisfactory when the restaurant still very apparently has problems with food and service when they have been open for a while. Why does the Google Place Page have such a high star rating (4.3 stars with 180 reviews) when B&L Diner has only been open for a week? Stop using old photos to bait customers to your restaurant -- that is where I would start. I would also reset your Google listing as you have a new menu and a freshman staff. I'm sorry that we gave this place a chance for such an easy meal... it was a burger, a pre-made TV dinner of turkey, potatoes, green beans, and 2 glasses of wine. We didn't even get the food until 70 minutes after we sat at the table.
How do you even start to fix this?
