To us, BABs is a place for friends, or those who will soon be. BABs is a casual energetic place with yummy food, authentic hospitality, great libations and friendly faces.

We cook ingredient driven food where inspiration comes from our personal experiences or one of the many cultures represented in our area, past and present. Our cooking is inspired by small local farms, using ingredients that are seasonal and raised or caught with care.

New Orleans is our home. It’s a place with an amazing sense of community where we’ve created meaningful relationships, and met extraordinary people along the way. We’re excited to continue feeding visitors and the people like us, who call it home.

    We went to BABs for our in-laws 25 th anniversary. It was a special night made better by the ambiance and service. The food was cooked to perfection and plated with care. Thank you

    The food at the Bywater American Bistro has never disappointed me. I have been eating here for years and it is truly a culinary experience each time. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

    Outstanding dinner along with impressive service. We sat at the bar and got a first hand look into the kitchen and how hard the staff works. Highly recommend

    Amazing dinner like always. Babs is one of the most consistent and tasty restaurants in all of Nola. Great staff, great food, amazing cocktails from one of the best chefs in the world.

    Nice open atmosphere with plenty of space between tables. Service was great, wine selection by the glass was above average. Food was quite good, decently priced for the quality. An enjoyable meal.
