Come hungry and allow us to curate a Spanish feast for your enjoyment! Three savory courses plus dessert from across our menu. If you are booking for a group of 8 or greater, please let us know of any dietary restrictions you'd like us to be aware of ahead of time, either by phone or (503-477-9081) or email (taylor@barcasavale.com). Very good tapas and drinks; the Gildas, the meatballs, and patatas brava were my favorites. Very helpful and attentive waitstaff. The ambiance in the firepit "outdoor" room is lovely.

The dining experience was truly remarkable. I took my partner here for his birthday, and the waitress quickly acknowledged the occasion. Our drinks were outstanding, and I highly recommend trying the hibiscus fizzy soda; it was very refreshing. The dishes we ordered were not only visually appealing but also of exceptional quality. Although the restaurant was somewhat noisy, it did not detract from the enjoyable time we shared. The lighting created a romantic and calming atmosphere. I will definitely return.

The whole experience was really good! We chose to try different small dishes rather than a entree and it was so good to try different things! Also the patio is really cozy and perfect for a nice diner. We will come back.

WARNING: Overpriced and very average food. But worst part is they have the nerve to add an automatic 23% service fee to cover the cost of their overhead. I never would have gone had I known this and wasn't hosting another couple. This was a change from last time. I will never go back and will advise everyone I know to avoid this place. They may think this is the new standard in Portland but will see and feel how this negatively affects their business in the next year. A professionally run restaurant knows their labor, cog and overhead costs and designs a menu based on those numbers. Let the customer decide if they are willing to pay those prices for those menu items and then ultimately what if any tip they want to leave based on the food and service and not on the inability of ownership to manage a balance sheet. Good luck...you'll need it

We've been to Bar Casa Vale several times (including last night) and really love the food. We make an effort to try lots of items for a tasting variety and overall experience. The past few times, we've noticed that many of our favorite items are no longer on the menu. While we can appreciate having new options, often what brings a customer back is having something you know is good, something you look forward to having again. There are too many items no longer offered such as...the ryed or die cocktail, marinated carrots, deviled eggs, brussels sprouts, pork ribs. So I have to say, last night's experience was a bit of a disappointment (we were a table of four and all felt this way). We enjoyed seeing the hostess (he's often there) who is super nice and accommodating. We had a special occasion and were given a complimentary dessert...which was a pleasant surprise and one we all very much appreciated.

Hi Clarissa, Thank you for the feedback! We change a certain percentage of our menu regularly to try and keep things fresh, but always try to leave on a few favorites so that people have something familiar that they can expect when they come back again. It's can be a tricky dance to try and figure out which things to keep around permanently and which things to change out. Inevitably, we sometimes end up removing something that someone was very fond of. I'm sorry to hear that there were a few of those for you this time! I hope you'll come back and see us again, as you're always a pleasure to have in the dining room, and that maybe some of those new items will become new favorites for you. I hope you have a great holiday!
