This was good Italian in Ireland. I recommend trying to sit upstairs as the downstairs is a bit like a basement. Kind staff.

I highly recommend the carbonara and the bolognese. The flavors are on point and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The burrata appetizer was absolutely delicious too. I love that they serve bread with olive oil and balsamic. The service was very attentive and got us served and out in time to make our theater reservations.

Overall a very good restaurant - food, ambience, service etc. My only gripe is that my reservation was for 5.15pm which was fine except I was not told at the outset that there was a time limit on the table. Subsequently we were asked to finish up around 7pm. We were almost ready to leave but we should have been advised when booking online or on arrival that the table would be required by 7.15pm. I never have a problem with a time limit provided I am advised in advance!! Most restaurants that have a time limit on early evening reservations have the courtesy of advising diners at latest on arrival.

I hadn't been in Bar Italia for several years. At the time its standards seemed to be slipping but it has bounced back and two of us had a lovely evening there. Authentic Italian restaurant with excellent food and service. Good wine list.

How have I not dined here before. Wow! Loved the food, service and Amarone by the glass. I would eat here multiple times a week. So looking forward to returning to this Dublin Gem. Graze Millie!
