Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Bar Mezzana offers a wide variety of event options. Our private dining room hosts up to 12 guests for a seated dinner, or 15 for a standing reception. Our semi-private dining room can accommodate up to 45 for a seated dinner or reception. The restaurant is also available for a full buyout.

Each month, we explore exciting regions, themes, and cuisines in our Wine Cellar Series. Enjoy a four-course tasting menu crafted by Chef Colin Lynch, with optional ($45 per person) expertly curated wine pairings by Beverage Director Ryan Lotz. Stay tuned for the menu via Instagram and our newsletters! *menu and pricing subject to change, available from Thursday, April 24th - Sunday, April 27th in our dining room, bar, and lounge. We ask that the entire party participate. Payment due at restaurant, a credit card is required for our cancellation policy.

Gravner, a pioneering estate from Friuli, helped define the skin-contact movement with their amphora-aged wines—deeply expressive, rooted in nature, and full of soul. Enjoy a curated side-by-side selection of Gravner wines alongside a three-course menu thoughtfully paired to highlight their depth and complexity. Whether you're an orange wine devotee or discovering Gravner for the first time, this will be a special night! $95 per person (exclusive of 7% tax, 4% kitchen admin fee, and 20% gratuity). A credit card is required to confirm the reservation. You will be presented with a final bill at the end of dinner for payment on site. Seating will be communal.     Food was fresh and delish! Make sure to get a bunch of plates to share with everyone at your table! It’s family style, but the portions are on the smaller side. Totally going back!

    New *Be aware if you go with little ones* We were there today and it was extremely cold outside, four adults and one 3 year old girl. Our server was wonderful his name was “Morgan” and it was the only helpful person there. To begin with we got there and we were sited outside and it was raining. We asked if there was any chance to get a table inside and the refused a gentleman that works there told us that they were ready to go and there was no chance to get a table inside. After 15 minutes there a family sitting next to us request to be sited inside and all the sudden they get a table and we were there first. We were sat in the only space with only one working heater in there outside area. We were so disappointed that we didn’t even get much food. We wanted just to run away from there. Our server was very nice and that is the only thing we have to value about the place. A restaurant with so many good reviews and located in a good part of the city should at least have decent high chairs. They have the worst most uncomfortable high chairs that not even let the kids get close to the table. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER GO BACK WHEN WE VSIT BOSTON. BE AWARE IF YOU WANT TO BRING A LITTLE ONE THERE.

    The food was very yummy and creative. Overall, the appetizers were good, not great. We all enjoyed our main courses a lot - mostly pasta dishes. My orrichiette with sausage was terrific! It is a little loud with it hard to hear the person diagonally across from me (we were a party of four). Our server was especially wonderful and helpful throughout the meal without ever being intrusive. Overall, I recommend it strongly.

    The food was amazing! Many people recommended this place to me and I will be coming back. Great date night spot or out with the girls! Highly recommend the gnocchi alla vodka. Service is amazing. Chefs kiss all around!
