Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Bar Mezzana offers a wide variety of event options. Our private dining room hosts up to 12 guests for a seated dinner, or 15 for a standing reception. Our semi-private dining room can accommodate up to 45 for a seated dinner or reception. The restaurant is also available for a full buyout.

    Experience a four-course menu thoughtfully curated by Chef Colin Lynch featuring seafood, house-made pastas, and all of the wonderful things Bar Mezzana does best to ring in the New Year! This menu is only available the night of December 31st. We will be offering our regular menu as well. This tasting menu is available for $95 per person and will be served family style. We ask that the full party participate. We hope to see you there to celebrate with us! *menu & pricing is subject to change

    Kick off 2025 with our next Wine Cellar Series! Travel to the alps and enjoy a four-course tasting menu created by Chef Colin Lynch featuring alpine inspired cuisine and optional wine pairings selected by our Beverage Director, Ryan Lotz. This menu will include three savory courses and dessert. It will be available from Thursday, January 23rd through Sunday, January 26th. We ask that the entire party participate. This dinner is available for $75 per person, with an optional (but suggested!) wine pairing. Our regular menu is available as well.

    Bar Mezzana never disappoints. We attended the Feast of the Seven Fishes offering. Everything was excellent. Really well formulated menu with perfect wine pairings. I didn’t think I liked smelts-they proved me wrong!

    To start, the service was good. Our waitress was extremely kind. Staff were going around filling waters very quickly which I appreciated. We also had champagne brought out to us for our anniversary and they sat us a really nice table. Unfortunately, the food experience was very poor. We had a hair in our food. For a bill that came out to $370, this is unacceptable. They also did not give us any discount. The taste of the food was ok. The portion sizes were SO small compared to what we paid. I personally wouldn’t recommend coming here again, as you can get way better food for the price. Edit: I spoke to the manager and he refunded me $55. I am happy that they were helpful in resolving this.

    This is the third year that my friends and I have come for the feast of the seven fishes. The food is amazing as usual, excellent service, and and festive ambience. We will be back next year.

    Expert service, great cocktails, and a menu designed for sharing made for a great night for our group. I would recommend it to others looking for a nice evening out!

    On a Saturday night at 7 o’clock, the noise level was intense. Also on a weekend in December, it was cold both outside and unfortunately, inside as well. It’s a rather stark and minimally decorated restaurant. Does not give the feeling of warmth. The food was good however portions are very small, not what you expect for the money charged.

    We were a party of seven, some that like the basics and others that are more adventurous. Bar Mezzana was a perfect option with a lot of variety to accommodate all of us. Service was fantastic, water glasses always filled, empty plate/dishes cleared quickly and we didn't have to look around to signal our server when we needed to order additional drinks. Our server also was great to offer up suggestions on cocktails, food and quantities to order. He was engaging and did not make us feel rushed. We started off with bread and dips. The other dishes were brought out when as they were ready and at a good pace. Bar Mezzana serves dishes family style which was perfect for our group. We liked ALL of the dishes we chose. Some of the favs, the winter squash agnolotti, lasagna and tuan Crudo. Eggplant was good but could have done without/less of the greens on the eggplant, it was a bit too much. Thanks for a great evening.

    Service was pretty bad. They forgot to bring out the 2 appetizers we ordered and we asked to remove the almonds in one of the entrees, yet it came out with almonds. Luckily this was just a preference of ours but if someone had a nut allergy, that could’ve been bad. They also charged us the wrong tequilla that was more expensive. Food otherwise was delicious
