Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Bar Mezzana offers a wide variety of event options. Our private dining room hosts up to 12 guests for a seated dinner, or 15 for a standing reception. Our semi-private dining room can accommodate up to 45 for a seated dinner or reception. The restaurant is also available for a full buyout.

Travel to the alps and enjoy a four-course tasting menu created by Chef Colin Lynch featuring alpine inspired cuisine and optional wine pairings selected by our Beverage Director, Ryan Lotz. From rich, rustic dishes to delicate Alpine cheeses, each course will take you on a culinary journey to the heart of the mountains. Bitter Green Salad toasted walnuts, shaved apples, crispy speck, Alpine cheese Croziflette bacon, onion, reblochon cheese Veal Cotoletta celeriac remoulade, pickled onions, fried egg Alsatian Blueberry Tart sweet cream gelato, olive oil *menu subject to change, available from Thursday, January 23rd - Sunday, January 26th. We ask that the entire party participate.

Our regular dinner menu will also be available.

    what a lovely restaurant. Beautiful decor and branding with the littlest but perfect touches. They had an extensive wine and cocktail menu. The wine that Sarah got was lovely. The two cocktails that I got were fabulous. started with the strait of Messina Which was a calabrian chili-infused tequila, prickly pear, lemon. perfect balance of spicy, but sweet yet still refreshing. The next drink I got was the improved spritz. This I think was an aperol spritz with olive juice. It was great. It had a perfect mind of the salty olive brine and the sweet aperol. I’ve had something like this once before, and I am a fan. This came in a tall rocks glass, which isn’t very cute, but at least it wasn’t a coupe glass. The focaccia was so mid. i was not a fan of this. the bottom was sooooo hard, and the bread itself was not light a fluffy. kinda dense and not enough salt in my opinion. It had rosemary on top, but the rest of the bread besides the top was very bland tasting. The next dish we had was the shaved Brussel sprout salad with roasted hazelnuts, pickled red onion, dried cranberries, and a Caesar vinaigrette dressing. This was yummy. It reminded me of a chopped salad the way that everything was very small and you could get every ingredient in the salad in one bite. then for mains, we both got the Bolognese tagliolini. This was a fabulous Bolognese sauce. You could tell that it had been cooking for a while. The spices were complex and it had a note of sweetness, which was surprisingly nice. The noodles were not al dente, but still very good. they were the Perfect size for me, as I don’t like a thick noodle. This was probably top 10 Bolognese that I’ve had in Boston for sure. we finished the night with a tiramisu. This is a delightful tiramisu. It was chocolate heavy without being overwhelming. All of the components were very well done and not one overshadowed anything else.

    Fantastic night out. Bar Mezanna came highly recommended and it certainly delivered. Extensive beverage list. Wide choice of plates to share to take advantage of the unique menu. Service was outstanding. It was a tad loud for us but would definitely return.

    Thanks for another fun brunch experience. Timmy was attentive and fun, food was amazing with tuna tartare, hash, the burger and the cinnamon buns exceeding expectations, and the wine was lovely. Look forward to next visit already! Happy New Year!

    food was as good as ever. A few new editions to the menu since the last time we were there. Eggplant was great!! Chicken under the Brick is still as good as ever! Still one of the best in Boston.
