The neighbourhood Italian restaurant you’ve always dreamed of, Bar Prima features a luxurious atmosphere that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. The restaurant design captures an old-school charm with dimly lit ambiance, creating an elevated and elegant atmosphere. From Italian disco inspired music to vintage design touches, Chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito have curated a space that feels as though it’s been there forever.

Bar Prima can at times feel opulent with its banquets and table lamps but can also feel relaxed and romantic. We seek to share our passion for food, beverage and hospitality, creativity and design with our open-minded guests!

    Join us on the 31st December for an evening of fabulous food and drink, as Bar Prima celebrates the end of 2024 and the beginning of the new year! We'll be running a special 7-course Set Menu for all parties throughout the night, showcasing some of Head Chef Nick's favorite dishes, with options to add on a perfect wine pairing, and even to enjoy an additional caviar service to kick off the meal in true style. Tables booked from 6pm will have a generous out-by time, enabling them to eat well before leaving for later plans, and those booked from 8pm are all invited to ring in the new year with us at Prima, where the Champagne will be flowing! The Set Menu is $180/pp. All drinks and additional options will be available to order on the night.

    This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The food never disappoints and the service is impeccable. This is my favourite restaurant!

    Food was good. The guy with the Irish accent who sat us was amazing but our server was kinda hostile. She seemed really angry and unfriendly. Maybe she was having a bad night.

    Your server made a mistake on my order on the main course last night . My reservation was for a table of 4 at 6.45pm. For the main course, we supposed to have ordered Ossobuco and the 12 Oz Australian Wagyu, but instead you sent us a regular strip sirloin, which was over cooked and rubbery and a octopus; upon seeing the mistake, we told your server, Sal, that the octopus was a wrong order and she even admitted that she couldn't read her own order handwriting and place the order in wrong, then she proceed to have the Octopus changed back to the Ossobuco. Upon finished, we paid the bill and when we returned home, we noticed that your restaurant charged me the Octopus as well, which we did not order. I have tried to contact your restaurant a few times last night and today, Sunday 29th, regarding the over charge; we still have not heard back from you regarding a refund. All we got was the answering machine. I don not think you want to have your reputation tarnished by stiffing me $51

    It’s was our second time at the restaurant. We sat at the bar and were looked after by Iain and Andrew. Superb atmosphere and wonderful food. Can’t say enough about our evening and looking forward to coming back. Definitely our fav place to eat in the City right now.

    Incredible service, menu recommendations, and atmosphere! Had a great time and the wine was very good too. We had trouble with traffic getting there and they did their best to accommodate us in the short amount of time we had.

    It was my first time at Bar Prima and it was outstanding. The staff was super knowledgeable and had best recommendations. The food...to die for! I can't wait to eat there again.

    Bar Prima has great style. It is however very loud making it hard to hear the waitress. The drinks and food were delicious. You are meant to share dishes. Presentation is beautiful.
