Established in 2011, Barrio Queen combines authentic service with traditional Mexican flavors to create an immersive and satisfying dining experience. This spot was named one of the "Best New Restaurants in America" by Esquire and features a unique take on tacos, burritos, tortas and other regional favorites. In addition to popular lunch and dinner items, there are numerous breakfast creations available any time of day. Barrio Queen also has a special menu with healthier dishes such as grilled fish tacos, chile relleno with vegetables and its exclusive Skinny Chola margarita.Barrio Queen features a bustling indoor dining area, as well as an outdoor patio outfitted with torch heaters for cooler evenings. The interior space is bright and has colorful artwork with an eye-catching Day of the Dead theme. We had a lovely experience, especially due to our server, Maria. She had the patience and took the effort to include our 8 and 10 year old granddaughters while preparing the guacamole. They had such fun adding the ingredients and helping mix. A very special time. Thank you, Maria!

Food is good, service was terrible. I am from out of town this restaurant was recommended for the food. I made a reservation and was sat in the bar area. Not enough staff to serve the area. I would have ordered another drink but no one ever came to check on us. Music was extremely loud. The air blows directly at each table and I asked if we could move and was told no. I asked if they could turn up the air and it never cut off the whole time we were there. We would have been better off sitting outside and it was cooler outside.

We love the Barrio Queen. We took guests from out of town and they loved the food, the patio outside and the total experience. Our waitress, Maria, was wonderful.

This was our first time here and it was great! We went for happy hour and had great margaritas and HH food. Our table ordered the 2-$5 tacos, chicken quesadillas, and the poblano pepper/chicken dish. All were so yummy and plenty of food. The hostesses were so accommodating and our server was “on -point”, taking great care of us and continually checking if we needed anything. We will definitely go back.

The drinks were the highlight of the experience. I ordered a Paloma, which they prepare tableside-a nice touch in theory, but in practice, a mess. The server kept realizing he was missing ingredients and had to leave to get them multiple times, which made the whole process feel disorganized and frustrating. The food itself was decent but, unfortunately, it arrived cold, which took away from the overall enjoyment. As for the service, it left a lot to be desired. At one point, I politely asked the person who brought our food if he could clear a dirty plate to give our party of eight a little more space. Instead of helping, he flat-out refused, pointing to himself and signaling "no" as he walked. It was bizarre and honestly, off-putting. Between the disorganized drinks, cold food, and lackluster service, the experience just wasn't worth it. Safe to say, I wont be coming back.

Party of 8. Server was nice, but scarce. Some of the food was cold. Other than that it was fine.

Quality of their food is terrible! I’ve been eating here for 5 years on and off. I brought my nephew who was visiting thinking it would be an outstanding experience. Boy was I wrong! The hostess and server were nice enough but the most important thing in any restaurant is the food. It sucked! The steak fajitas were awful, the meat was super tough not tender. My nephew barely ate it. No flavor! Doesn’t fajitas come with cheese? No cheese. I ordered for $20 what I thought was the prime rib enchiladas, I asked the waitress if this is the tender shredded type yummy meat, she assured me yes! Well, no it was small amounts of gross tough meat placed sparely on shogging corn tortillas. Yuck, no flavor, I asked for hot sauce, it didn’t help. Embarrassing entree for $20. So when the waitress asked us how is everything I did tell her the fajitas sucked as they were very tough and not tender like they used to me. I told her overall I wasn’t happy. Her response was yes we changed the meat on the fajitas about a month ago and have been hearing that a lot from other customers. We got our bill and paid and I will never go back! Gross wouldn’t feed their food to my dogs! Do not recommend, many other options in ole town.
