When the original Bascom came to Florida at the turn of the last century to help Henry Flagler build the Key West Railroad, he brought with him his love for thick cut chops and juicy steaks. During his travels he also discovered the bounties of fresh native Florida seafood.

We have brought all of his favorites together in a true American Chop House that pays tribute to Bascom's hearty appetite and a passion for great steaks, chops and fresh seafood.

In his honor, we have made Bascom's Chop House a comfortable, yet elegant, American restaurant. We are proud to offer a superbly crafted wine list and American Mid-Western beef, aged to our own exacting specifications to ensure the most tender and flavorful steaks served anywhere at any price. And, true to our Bascom's Chop House name, we also offer hand-cut veal, pork and lamb chops all prepared to perfection, as well as a great selection of native seafood delivered fresh daily.

    By far one of the best steakhouses I have been to. The french onion soup is perfection, the sides are fantastic, especially the au gratin potatoes and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow truffle butter… incredible. The smoked old fashion complimented the whole evening. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

    We were escorted to a smaller room that was very peaceful. Our Server Bill, 7 years of service, paced the birthday celebration perfectly. Drinks, apps, and dinner were never rushed. Food was excellent for all five of us. Strips, prime rib, rib eye, and filets were all cooked perfectly and tasted great. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee was $50 for each bottle, no more than two. We had a wonderful evening.

    Food & service were great, we had to eat upstairs, very noisy because of an entertainer ( who was good). I was disappointed that you now have to pay for bread.

    From start to finish, this dinner was phenomenal! Christopher was incredibly helpful with recommendations (Billionaire's Bacon?...Yes, please!) and so attentive. Our group of 6 all agreed that this was by far our favorite restaurant when visiting St. Petersburg. We will be back!

    Pluses: good value, great wedge salad that they chopped for us, yummy broccolini, rib steak cooked your request. Less positive: no ambience, pepper sauce rather bland. Juliano was fantastic. We’ll return for a solid, but not exceptional steak house experience. Bar was very noisy, so we were glad we were not sitting too close to it.

    Our server Kristi was on point with our drinks and entrées. We dined on New Year’s Eve and the selection for the prefixed dinner was very selective. We all enjoyed our meals and desserts. Hope to come back to dine and choose from their regular menu selection. We were very impressed with Boscos’s!
