When the original Bascom came to Florida at the turn of the last century to help Henry Flagler build the Key West Railroad, he brought with him his love for thick cut chops and juicy steaks. During his travels he also discovered the bounties of fresh native Florida seafood.

We have brought all of his favorites together in a true American Chop House that pays tribute to Bascom's hearty appetite and a passion for great steaks, chops and fresh seafood.

In his honor, we have made Bascom's Chop House a comfortable, yet elegant, American restaurant. We are proud to offer a superbly crafted wine list and American Mid-Western beef, aged to our own exacting specifications to ensure the most tender and flavorful steaks served anywhere at any price. And, true to our Bascom's Chop House name, we also offer hand-cut veal, pork and lamb chops all prepared to perfection, as well as a great selection of native seafood delivered fresh daily.

    Overall, I generally enjoy the food at Bascom‘s. This evening, however there were a few notes that stood out. The garlic shrimp appetizer was outstanding. The baked grouper and a lemon Blanc sauce was outstanding. However, the rice that came with the grouper was absolutely gross and not edible. The steaks at our table or average or slightly below the Bascom standard. I ordered a fillet, barrel cut, which means a thicker cut and requested cooked medium. I expressed that I did not mind if there was char on it. I got a pretty flat cut steak with zero char or grill marks The steak was cooked satisfactory but not exactly what I had in mind when I ordered it. The other person at our table ordered the porterhouse based on my recommendation. Interestingly half the Porter house was superior and perfectly cooked. The other half was not cooked in the same way, indicating inconsistency on the grill. That was disappointing because that person was our guest and we highly recommended Bascombs. Service felt rushed and impersonal. It was however expedient and effective. As I mentioned, they have done better in the past and I’m sure they will get in the future but I am hoping a good owner/manager will value these comments

    We had our Christmas luncheon at bascom's, the food is excellent. The service was amazing. Carla was terrific, we really love this place!

    What an amazing night for a random Monday! From the entry to the exit, Bascom's delivered. The hosts were friendly and quick about our reservation, the food terrific but the service is what sold us. I am a hospitality-professional and i cannot help but measure other venues against my standards. Our server, Derek, was flawless. I'm talking table-crumbed, cocktail fork down before the appetizer arrived, flawless. I would be hard-pressed to entrust a holiday or other special occasion elsewhere. Thank you!

    Our waitress, Savannah was awesome! Our food was delicious and our mixed drinks were perfect! What a great lunch, what a great restaurant!

    Four of us enjoyed our first dinner together at Bascom to celebrate Christmas instead of exchanging gifts. What a treat to have Kim V guide us through the menus and offer insights. The shrimp and crab appetizers were delicious as was everything else. Probably our best experience yet in the Tampa area. We will go back without hesitation. The wine was amazing and fairly priced- expertly decanted and served.

    Short and sweet. Yvonne our waitress was excellent. $4 bread charge is ridiculous if you're spending $50 + on a meal and $50 + on a bottle of wine. Would 1 loaf of bread hurt your bottom line?

    Very nice experience for my husbands birthday. The food and service were great. For a nice steakhouse the pricing was quite reasonable. We will be back.
