Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

    Bata was lovely, lively and unusual. The food and cocktails we had were delicious, and the service made the meal extra special. You can tell that the staff has been super well trained, and their knowledge really added to the whole experience. Must love veggies!!

    The items are said to be sharable. Most dishes were but the carrot tart was so little it was hardly big enough for one much less share.

    The food was creative and excellently prepared. We loved how the ingredients that are used are obtained from local farms and providers. Some of the ingredients such as the elderberries, were locally foraged. We ordered a chef’s meal where they put together our a 5 course dinner. We also asked that they pair wine with each course. The food was delicious and each wine was a perfect complement to the food. The portions of everything were just right. Not too little. Not too much. The staff that served us were professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine. They were enjoyable to visit with. You can tell they enjoy their jobs. We definitely plan to visit Bata next time we’re in Tucson.

    Bata is a go-to Tucson favorite! The menu offers unique and creative food options. We enjoyed the albacore tuna and its fabulous sauce, squash, beef tartare, carnitas..and the lavender ice cream. A special shout out to Rory, our server, for a truly wonderful dining experience.

    Service was great and the space is lovely. The menu is clearly crafted by a very talented chef. Portions are too small. Dishes are overly complicated and lacking flavor/substance. We should have trusted the other reviews that said overpriced and you’ll leave still hungry.
