Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

We loved BATA. Our excellent server gave us advice on how to order from the menu - small plates, shared with each other, great suggestions and explanations of the dishes themselves. Everything was delicious. The interior was lovely and even though the space has high ceilings, it wasn't too noisy for us to hear each other. Highly recommend.

We went with the chef's suggestions and were very pleased. The result was our favorite meal in our Tucson visit. We look forward to a future meal there too.

Our recent visit to Bata was fantastic. Roxanna was our server who was professional and fun. The food was outstanding.

The atmosphere was upscale and very well designed, particularly the table placement for two and the open kitchen. The service was very attentive and professional. Every course was explained and when we needed something the service was responsive. The food was good, some of it very good, but overall it lacked something special or memorable. For example, our main course was braised beef that was perfectly done, but the sauce was nothing special and the sides lacked almost any flavor. In my opinion, to be a upscale destination the level of the food needs to be elevated to the price and what is promised by the restaurant.

Really nice place. The service was amazing!!! We got this special they had, they chose the dishes for us, got to try a little bit of everything, and it was so good!

Rory’s service was exceptional; engaging, knowledgeable and welcoming. The food is always amazingly creative and evolved, blending a palate of global cuisine styles with locally sourced ingredients in a provocative way that leaves you craving for more.

Food experience versus cost of meal does not make sense. A nearly $300 meal with only one glass of wine for 3 people and we left hungry. It was no where close to a wow. The food was simply ok and they had terrible deserts. How can one screw up deserts .
