Tuesday evening dinner with friends. I had a reservation that was confirmed earlier in the day, but when we arrived the place was bumping and there wasn't a table available? There were many big parties and the back end of restaurant was closed off for an event. Hmmm. There are two managers and one was at a loss. Thankfully the other manager came to us and said there was a table that had just paid and could we wait a moment. We did. I'm glad we waited because we had a table by the window, near the front of the restaurant and away from the hub bub; it was perfect. He thanked us for waiting and our waiter was fantastic; we each had selections from the traditional French menu - so good and beautifully plated. Lovely drinks, we shared the beet salad and a creme brulee. This is my third time eating at Batifol and I am looking forward to my next dinner or brunch there.

We had a server in a sweatshirt who left us waiting for 15 minutes, didn't greet us, didn't introduce himself, didn't ask if we had questions, just came over and stared at us until we realized he expected us to order. Pretty disappointing.

My partner and I started the night with a French mai tai of their cocktail menu. Delish! We opted to do the unlimited steak frites for dinner. We were offered salads to start off with, (which we were told was part of the steak frites dinner special , it's not) simple side salad fresh vinaigrette it was good. We noticed one salad was all greens and my salad was literally swimming in cucumbers and radishes. Now our steaks, my partners steak cooked to perfection medium, the cuts of meat also great. My steak was raw, it hit the pan for a second was all, the cuts of steak awful raw fat chunks and silverskin all over. The fries were good, thin and crispy. When our waitress finally came over I had given up on requesting a new meal, she saw all the raw chewy cuts of meat all over my plate didn't bother to offer me a new meal or replacement instead asked me would you like a second helping ? If i didn't eat the first round what made her think I wanted seconds. My partner decided to give it a go one more time. Again his steak cooked perfectly medium. The cuts were all over the place chewy, too much fat and silverskin. Drinks were good, basket of bread and butter delicious! As for entrees consistency is non existent.

Food took forever and was cold but at least it tasted good and the waitresss was nice and they comped

Disappointed with the quality of the steak frites, too much fat no flavor. Had to wait 20 minutes despite having a reservation.

I absolutely love Batifol!! The vibe inside the restaurant and on the patio is so fun. All of the servers are super nice, and the food is delicious!!! You feel like you are in a Parisian bistro. I will continue to come back again and again!

Batifol is a great option for an after-work or business dinner at Kendall Square. The food menu offers a good selection of Americanized French food, the wine selection is great- prices are a bit high, yet the service is trying to be attentive and accommodating.
