   Food was outstanding, with exceptional service as well. We sat at the kitchen counter to watch the show, and ended up chatting with the chef and owner as we finished our dessert. Flavor combinations were creative, tasty, and well executed. The cocktail menu and wine list had several great options which did not disappoint! We were thoroughly impressed with Bearcat and will definitely return!

   My wife and I went to Bearcat on a date night a couple nights ago. We were told upon booking that only bar tables were available, but when we showed up the restaurant was fairly empty so we were placed a standard table. The ambiance is fun and lively, with an eclectic playlist playing at a medium volume. The buzz of the small, open kitchen is exciting and fun to observe. The decor is minimal but trendy. Our server, Jordan, was solid in both service and experience - very knowledgeable and mostly attentive, primarily at the start of our experience. We got a couple cocktails - which were funky but tasty - followed by the roasted oysters and crab dumplings. Both appetizers were room temperature at best. Perhaps that's the way they are supposed to be, but it caught us off guard. The oysters were otherwise tasty, the dumplings were decent but not packed with flavor. We then had the summer salad and stroganoff, which turned out to be the stars of the night. The salad was gigantic and packed with great, fresh flavors. The stroganoff with venison was incredible and easily the best thing we ordered. We wanted the monkfish for dinner, but when we ordered at 7:00, they were already out, so we opted for the duck breast. The amount of duck that was offered was great, as it was equally meaty and flavorful. However, it was also lukewarm, which once again threw us off. Overall, it was a very solid choice and highly enjoyable. With a couple tweaks or changed expectations, it could easily become a staple stopping spot.

   This is a GREAT restaurant. Food is excellent quality, creatively and beautifully prepared with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dine here for a real treat from folks who clearly love what they do. A stylish neighborhood gem.

   The food was amazing!! Veronica was an amazing waitress, giving great advice and a terrific description of the offerings. The broiled oysters, pâté and stroganoff were outstanding!! The music, however, was a nightmare. Loud rap and metallic bands are fine in a bar at best, but not when eating an amazing meal. Veronica was great and got it changed for a bit, but sadly it reverted back and as a result we skipped dessert. We’ll be back to eat but very much hope the music situation is resolved! Otherwise we may be forced to get it to go…..

    Very amazing and relaxing experience!! The dishes were absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed our server describing them after placing the dishes on the table. It really rounded the experience and made it so interesting.
