Beckta offers a constantly changing a-la-carte and two tasting menus daily in both our our fine dining rooms with luxurious seating, or a more casual vibe in our delightful wine bar area that features daily food specials.                                       The food is amazing (5 course tasting menu) and the wine pairings perfect. Our server was outstanding: very friendly and knew her stuff. She took great care of us. The knowledge of the chef(s) of what goes together food wise is a true art!

                                      We were very underwhelmed by our experience. The charcuterie board was very boring and the hanger steak was far too salty. The server left us feeling ignored as there was a larger table next to us that she doted on and we had to try to get her attention several times as she ignored us. We ended up not getting our after-dinner drinks as the waitress had forgotten them. I would expect this from more mainstream restaurants.

                                      We've eaten at Beckta many times as it's one of our favorite restaurants, but not tonight. We wound up with a complimentary soup due to an ordering error. It was superb and, along with the green matcha cake, the highlight of our dinner. Unfortunately the mains were underwhelming. Both were much too salty - my husband's cornish hen and my salmon. My Swiss chard was far too oily and also very salty - inedible in fact. We mentioned this to our server and she topped up our wines as partial compensation. It's a shame as normally food is exceptional.

                                      Dear Linda: I'm so sorry that your main courses were too salty on your recent visit and that it took so much away from your experience. The chef has been made aware of the issue based upon your comments and has made sure that the situation won't be repeated.                                       As a table of former waitresses and bartenders, this was by far the best service we’ve ever had. Our waiter was attentive, polite, quick, and we had a wonderful experience. There was another gentleman helping out as well and he was also wonderful, he checked on allergies and made us feel at ease. Overall, the food was great, but the service ensured we had an even better experience. Thank you.

                                      Did blind tasting menu with wine pairing. Between waitstaff who perfectly explained each course to the perfect presentation and creativity of each dish, the evening was incredible. Beckta was fantastic as always.

                                      Came from out of town, researched “”Top 10 restaurants in Ottawa”. After reading rave reviews selected Beckta , which left much to be desired! One of my party received the wrong meal with uncooked potatoes and another meal tasted like it was reheated after sitting too long. The service was quite attentive , but a major disappointment as we were looking forward to an exceptional experience. To their credit, we were not charged for the wrong meal and received some complimentary biscuits to take home, but sadly, the opportunity to make a lasting impression was lost.

                                      The five course option proved to be extremely enjoyable with discoveries brought with every dish. While I do no drink alcohol, the drinks offered matched nicely the dishes. My lady friend had the wine pairing and was a perfect complement to the dish flavours.
