Set in the revitalized James St. North neighbourhood, Berkeley North is a West Coast inspired restaurant located on historic King William Street in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Berkeley North is the go to spot for a quick bite to eat, weekend late night cocktails, celebrating a special occasion or hosting a private party. Our young and passionate culinary team follows no scripts or rules when creating vibrant and unique dishes. We allow the seasons to influence our changing menu and are committed to using responsibly sourced ingredients. Honestly it was nothing to write home about. We were here last year and the experience was way better. We had family coming out of town and we were excited to show them this gem but the quality of food was food truck quality. The “BN salad” was 28 dollars and it was so terrible. Boston lettuce, cucumber, and a few sliced radish. The steak had zero flavour and the beef was so tough and kinda gross to be honest. The sour dough is simply a piece of sour dough with a ton of cottage cheese. Our server was very awkward. She pulled a drink off our table that wasn’t even finished. Overall kinda disappointed. I most likely won’t be returning. So many other better choices in Hamilton. I’m not sure how this one made the Michelin guide. The quality of food has gone down hill along with the service.

Absolutely superb place. The food is delicious with authentic flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The service is attentive and friendly making you feel truly welcome. The restaurant design is beautiful. BN is a must visit

Probably the best dining experience we have ever had. The food was exceptional but that couple with the attention to detail and personalize service that sets BN apart. It is evident that so much thought is put into every dish. Will definitely be back

5 stars is an understatement! Hands down best restaurant in Hamilton. Every dish we ordered was out of this world. Portions are perfect and there was even room for dessert. The chana rolls are my new favorite. If you're looking for a romantic restaurant or the best food in Hamilton, make a reservation here.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and it was easily one of the best dinner experiences either one of us has ever had. From the absolutely delicious food to the service to the atmosphere it was a 10 / 10 all around. Every person we spoke with from the hostess to the wonderful owner, wished us a happy anniversary. Our glasses were filled and our plates cleared as soon as we put our forks down but we didn't feel rushed in the slightest. You could see how smoothly everything was run and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. We will most definitely be back. 5 ⭐

Our server was attentive and very good. We were expecting much more in terms of the taste, quality and presentation of the food after seeing that the restaurant was Michelin recommended. Unfortunately, everything was just average. For the two apps, he fresh cheese and sourdough came and basically looked like two pieces of toast with burrata on top. It was tasty though. The tuna crudo did not taste fresh. For our mains, the striploin with fries was not seared properly and the fat was grisly. The fries were good. The fried chicken had a dense batter and was over seasoned. The Basque cheesecake again arrived with a very underwhelming presentation but was delicious and the best part of the meal. We would not recommend nor will we be returning.

If you want to mail to punctuate your special occasion, choose Berkeley North. It's always been wonderful, starting with the ambience. But this past 2nd of December it was amazing and I rarely use that word. I rarely choose the tasting menu but I'm so glad I did. It was perfectly planned and prepared. Beautifully plated and presented. They have added cauliflower to the menu which tasted amazing and the gnocchi has had a seasonal change and every bite of it was utterly delicious. Portion size was perfect. The service for stellar Well done BN. I'll keep returning. And send my friends.

We were absolutely stunned by the work done in this place, the service was in point, always had to keep everything clean on the table and prepare for the next service, keeping the water and drinks always fresh. The ambience had a very cool vibe and the food was just a delight. We chose the tasting menu, and the wine was well paired and matched the taste of the meal. We were very surprised by how much food we had and felt like we ate for hours, which we did! Potions were perfect the presentation was beautiful and not too over the top. A Michelin nod experience we would 100% recommend.

Dined here for a second time and as before BN didn't disappoint. They added Cauliflower to the menu which we were excited to try and it tuned out to be delicious. Gnocchi had a upgrade too and the presentation + taste was top notch. The server made some amazing wine pairing suggestions. Overall, it was great.
