Our first visit to Berkerlo Terrey Hills was for lunch on a pleasant sunny day. We sat at a table on the covered deck and enjoyed the bushland setting and the jumble of buildings, outside seating and people.
The service was excellent because the staff we encountered (including the duty Manager) were welcoming, thoughtful, well-informed and attentive.
As a starter, we had locally made bread, whipped butter, and olives. The fish of the day was moist and fresh, served on an excellent light salad-based sauce. The chips chosen to accompany the fish dish were "rustic" (rough cut) and moreish. A side salad was less interesting as I felt the leaves were too large and the dressing too reclusive.
The crumble was served hot in a mini iron skillet with a generous ball of ice cream on top. Absolutely splendid way to finish lunch.
The limited menu is a plus because a few things done with attention to detail is better than trying to juggle too many offerings and probably doing some of them badly.
We have added this venue to our list of venues that are close enough to home to come for relaxed evening meals. We will also be back for weekend lunches.
