I was lucky to get reservations in the main dining area. They are usually booked months out and I was on the waitlist. However, the moment my plane landed I checked and something was available later that night.
I was pleasantly pleased from the start! My server, Will, didn’t miss a beat. He was extremely attentive, gave the best recommendations, and provided information on the restaurant’s history.
My wine cellar tour, restaurant tour, and dessert room reservation was made at the start of my dinner. The artwork on the walls were original photographs the founder, Bert, took during his world travels. The chandeliers and other furnishing were pieces he and his wife purchased at estate sales around the world.
I ordered the black garlic and cognac strip steak. It was very flavorful and cooked to perfection.
It can with a salad, the most amazing French Onion soup, a loaded baked potato, green beans, and fried onion strings. For dessert I got the Vintage Chocolate Lush Sundae and ordered extra Macadamia nut ice cream! It was magical!! The fudge that comes with the sundae is out of this world!
There so much charm to this restaurant. It has a very rich history and there’s pictures and artwork on all the walls to prove it! The kitchen and wine cellar tours were very cool! Every seating space in the dessert room is like its own little private dining area. I was dining solo and my little cubicle was big enough for two people. It was such an upscale and elevated experience! I could come here again and again!! They have truly earned the title of one of the Best Steakhouses in the World!
