Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, book your table in the Belmont Room, York. This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones. Put aside any concerns you may have about not feeling full: we’ll happily replenish pots of tea and sandwiches to make sure you leave feeling content.     Afternoon tea in Betty’s Belmont Room - what a lovely way to spend Christmas Eve. Scrummy food, plentiful refills, relaxing piano playing and absolutely exceptional service from all staff but in particular from Anne who looked after us so well. Thank you everyone.

    Lovely festive afternoon tea at bettys - an oasis of calm out of the madness. Enjoyed the piano player playing Christmas tunes in the background. Good and coffee all great. Great with the kids too.

    The staff gave me a menu of Bettys shop and told me that they can help me to buy the goods in the menu，so I don't need to go to the stop. However，when I asked the staff to buy something at 18:10，the staff told me that the shop was closed. Nobody reminded me about it at all and close time of the shop is 18:00. I told the staff that I will leave York in the early morning of tomorrow，but seems that the staff didn’t try to help me although it is their fault，forgot to remind me to make order before the shop is closed. Actually when I checked out fm 2nd floor‘s tea room and went down to the shop （1st floor） at 18:30，I found that still had some clients in their team room at 1st floor that is next to the shop and also saw the shop staff inside the shop.

    An excellent experience that we enjoy when doing Christmas shopping in Harrogate or York. A bit pricey I'm afraid for more regular visits. I do understand that a lower price point would probably mean a reduction in the standards so we will continue to accept that this is a occasional treat.

    I had a delightful afternoon tea at Betty's Tea Room that exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was charming, with elegant decor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The selection of teas was superb, perfectly complemented by freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and homemade jam. The assortment of finger sandwiches was fresh and flavorful, while the pastries, particularly the chocolate macrons and were exquisite. The attentive staff provided impeccable service, making us feel truly special.
