The Bibendum Oyster Bar - a local stalwart - is steered masterfully under the direction of Lyon born 2 Michelin-starred chef Claude Bosi. The large tiled foyer of the great Michelin building remains, and it’s great for a glass of fizz and a few oysters (there are always many varieties to choose from), and also perfect to stay a bit longer for a more leisurely lunch or dinner.
Expect plenty of fresh seafood; oysters, langoustine and the signature seafood platters - alongside a comprehensive yet affordable wine list.

As well as dining inside the main "house", there are seats outside in the semi-open courtyard, and also in the prime spot of streetside on Fulham Road. If it does turn a little chilly, there are also some luxury blankets…

Service fantastic. Starters - Steak Tartare ok, needed an egg yolk. Fish soup very good. Mains - vongole, clams throughout chewy which was unpleasant, they took this off the bill. Mussels, flavourless. Ambience was nice but overall not a great experience, would not return.

Sometimes you go to a place because you hear it’s great in terms of the food. Seafood here was wonderful, but the ambience and the staff made it a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The prices were far too high for the quality of the food. Everything we tried was underwhelming—the lobster roll, the oysters, the octopus. Overall, not worth the cost.

I didn’t feel like the oysters were great, and the lobster wasn’t either. Absolutely lovely place, and staff were nice / responsive. Just didn’t think the food was quite up to scratch, especially given the price.

Heating fan above door soooo loud it’s all you could hear. It’s a tired tired place that relies on its location to work. Zero ambience filled with dodgy looking tourists

A wonderful dinner for our honeymoon / first wedding anniversary. We’ve always wanted to come to Bibendum and we were so pleased that it was as lovely as we had hoped. We had the Bibendum burger which was delicious. Great service and a lovely little treat for our anniversary. Thanks!

As a design historian, I have been dying to eat in this magnificent, historic building for years, and finally got my chance: the experience was definitely worth the wait! The front of this Modernist building has been restored from the original UK headquarters of Michelin Tires into two Claude Bosi restaurants. We ate at the casual oyster bar on the old garage level, which has a slim, but excellent menu (that also includes vegetarian and non-seafood items). The ambiance is spectacular, as one is surrounded by historic painted tiles featuring turn-of-the-century racers whose vehicles sported Michelin tires, a floor mosaic of Bibendum "toasting" all comers, and grand metalwork with the company's inital. The lovely, generous host allowed me a peek at the glamorous, formal upstairs dining room (which had not yet opened) so I could admire the stained-glass windows with unique Bibendum motifs in each. He also regaled me with interesting stories about the more recent history and renovation of the building. All of the staff were fantastic and attentive, but the oyster bar host was truly amazing--I am grateful he indulged me my every curiosity about the building! THANK YOU, Bibendum Oyster Bar staff for a memorable evening!

The restaurant is in a great location, the food is excellent, and it's a very pleasant venue. I would highly recommend. But as the weather gets colder dress warmly as it's outdoors, although part is covered....

The burger was really nice,they accepted a reservation for 8ppl without batting an eyelid or asking for a set menu, but they were a tad too fast to clear the plates. They would literally take away a quarter of my burger had no one said anything!

Staff were lovely - wish I had names to call out. Service wasn’t the sharpest, but excellent knowledge on gluten free. Fab oyster selection, lovely spot with flowers, great fish dishes.

Whenever we dine at a restaurant owned by a known Michelin star winner, especially when it is directly adjacent to the restaurant with the star(s) as this one is, we have an expectation that the service and will at least be aspirational of that kind overall experience. Sadly that is not at all the case at all with Claude Bosi's oyster bar at Bibendum. The food was definitely up to standard and we could find no fault with it. But the service was extremely uneven, even amateurish at times. Yes when both my water glass and wine glass are completely empty, it is time to ask about refilling them. They were not at all busy on a Friday night, which makes sense in hindsight. The 2 young dining room servers who were ocassionally supported by the bar tender becuase there was nobody sitting at the bar, seemed to have no management of any kind overseeing them. In fact the person who seemed like she might have been the manager spent the entire time we were there having a personal conversation with one of the other tables that must have either been a personal friend of a known "regular." Anyway it was not hard to see why this restaurant has so few regulars even on a Friday night.
