Every Bill Granger’s restaurant reflects the spirit we like to think of as ‘Australian’: sunny, easy-going and generous.

Bill opened his first restaurant in Sydney’s Darlinghurst in 1993. It soon became loved for its legendary breakfasts, served at the famous central communal table, where locals and travellers, families and friends, continue to be welcomed. Thirty years later, Bill’s relaxed, friendly and infectious joy in good, fresh food has become truly global, and is enjoyed at his restaurants in Sydney, Seoul, Tokyo and London.

    First time at the Double Bay location as I’ve only been to the Surry Hills location before. I ordered the corn fritters with bacon, they were amazing, would order again. Good coffee as well. The service is efficient without hovering which is great. Comfy booth seating makes a leisurely breakfast a joy. Street parking available in the area and there is a parking garage across the street.

    Every dish on the bills breakfast menu remains peak Australian. No meal is ever a disappointment. Staff are always friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Plates are always served efficiently and coordinated so everyone gets their dish freshly prepared at the same time. Can never go wrong at bills.

    Disappointing. Tiny serve of granola with limited flavour. Transactional service with lack of engagement and care. Booking not in the system. Cramped layout. Corn fritters accompanied by bland avocado mash and a few tasteless spinach leaves.
