One of the worst dinning experiences I’ve have in my life. I’ve been to this restaurant 3 times in the past 8 months and this will be the last. I went with my partner and her parent who were visiting from interstate for a birthday. It stated well, the wait staff were friendly and engaging to begin with. Whilst ordering I asked about the chataeubriand, which I have ordered on every occasion I have been here. I asked the waitress if they use the tenderloin ( eye fillet) of beef which is the cut that is always used for this dish she assured me they did. I explained last time I was here they served 2 sirloin steaks on top of each other instead of the fillet. We ordered 2 chateaubriand at $99 each. We received 2 sirloin steaks that would have been 350grams with beans and potatoes, if I wanted to order the sirloin I would have ordered the sirloin. I spoke to the waiter and pointed out to him that they have used the wrong cut of meat. He left and a few minutes later the chef came out in an aggressive and intimidating manner to tell us that a chateaubriand is a sirloin and I didn’t know what I was talking about in so many words. His intimidating manner changed the energy on our table and we couldn’t wait to leave. The steak they served us was tough and chewy, the dish itself was terrible. The waiter returned at some point later with 4 thinly slices pan fried pieces of eye fillet as an attempt at service recovery. I have worked in the hospitality industry, travel extensively, have spent plenty of time in France due to my job and dine out for dinner 3 to 4 times a week for dinner . The waiter apologised when we left, I explained to him that I didn’t appreciate being gas lit in public manner by an aggressive chef. We though we had found a hidden gem and had enjoyed our previous experiences dinning here, it has a good atmosphere, is unpretentious and is quaint, the food was good on our first visit and declined on every other visit.
