Expect the Unexpected at Black Walnut. Concept owned by Chef Andrew Black – a 2023 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef Southwest, and a 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Chef. Blending American cuisine with the neighborhood’s cultural history, the menu is eclectic and vibrant. The pairing of global street cocktails from Bali to Brazil adds to its culinary spirit, and a spacious patio makes this our community’s new favorite place to come together. Dressed but not dressy, Black Walnut OKC is the perfect balance of thoughtful food and an unbuttoned experience.

Banquet style and plated menus are available when booking the entire dining space. This space seats up to 30 for a typical dining experience, but the room can hold up to 70 for a touch-and-go setting.

                                                  We really enjoyed our Dinner. It wasn’t overly crowded and service was great. I think the food was excellent for the cost. We had the fried green tomatoes, lobster bites, burgundy mushroom, beef ribs and the rack of lamb. We like the ribs and the fried green tomatoes most. Although, we would eat it all again.

                                                  We were here 12 months ago and visited again because we loved it so much the first time. We were sorry we missed Darlene. Service was excellent and food was amazing again! The cocktails were not as good as the first time we went, however the overall experience was still amazing.

                                                  Wow, great food. Service was excellent. Very modern environment. Exciting to have a wonderful restaurant. Looking forward to trying more from menu. We had the king salmon and the lamb rib. The salmon had crisp side with soft and moist texture. The lamb tasted great. Non-game. Tod, Shawnee

                                                  Nice environment, but the food is just okay. I wish the chef would have more unsweetened food options. Everything seem to have a sweet element and some of us (me) don’t want that. The honey chicken tasted like licorice and the salmon had raisins mixed in it.

                                                  Had a great date night here and will return! Service was good, but we didn’t have a great table (small table). Food was outstanding for the price and drinks were very good as well!

                                                  This was our first time at Black Walnut, although we had eaten at another of Mr Black’s restaurants. Pearl Mesta is wonderful and this one is totally different but also excellent. I had the bronzino and my wife the salmon. Both were delicious and prepared differently than we had ever encountered before for these two fish. The fried green tomatoes were also a very different twist on a southern classic and fantastic! We also had never tried anything like the lobster bites. He has a way with changing the normal into the extraordinary and exceptional. Our waitress Chloe was attentive and helpful. She made the meal progress at just the right speed. We definitely will return, and perhaps to the Gray Sweater next door.
