Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's.

We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.

Good value for money. Burger and pork chops were really nice. Chips normal but sauces were above avarage. Would recommend.

Unfortunately despite only being a table of 2, our starter took forever to arrive and we then were given our mains before the starter - over an hour following arrival. Other diners that arrived after were served before so not ideal. That said one of the team acknowledged the poor service and refund the starters and provided coffees free of charge. The good was ok and perhaps is better when less busy…

Food wasn’t so good, steaks could’ve been a lot better than expected. However, Erol was our waiter and he was super lovely.

Outstanding food and service by George who looked after my colleague and I extremely well; knowledgeable about all the food, drink and the right level of customer engagement. His other colleague whose name I did not catch was also exceptional. I well oiled machine, fantastic customer service and staff.

I've returned many times to Blacklock City since 2018 and every visit has been excellent. I love the Monday Butcher pricing but the everyday prices are quite fair. The service is exemplary and my waitstaff clearly communicates their pride and enthusiasm working as a team. It's a really good place to visit as a customer, and I think it's a really terrific place to work.
