Main course and sides were very nice but service and dessert was not.
We ordered a large porterhouse to share, and were advised it would take 30-40 minutes to cook. No problem on that, and it did arrive in that time frame. The issue was that after enjoying our main course for approximately 15 minutes, we waited at least 5 minutes for our plates to be cleared. This wouldn’t have been an issue at all had we then not been told that our table was needed back in 15minutes but that “should be enough time to eat dessert!”.
We ordered cheesecakes and after a 5 minute wait the server practically sprinted to our table and through down 1 bowl, even though we’d ordered 2 portions. He came back with another bowl and served 2 small portions of cheesecake, not offering the “say when” size that the menu and restaurant is famous for. We hadn’t even finished our cheesecake before the bill was thrown at us. Then seconds after taking our plates away he appeared with a card machine before we’d even had a chance to get out a card to pay with!
Can totally understand restaurants needing tables back on a busy Saturday afternoon, that’s no issue at all, but expecting people to eat a huge steak and a dessert in an hour and 15 minutes when it takes 10minutes to decide on what to order then, the steak itself takes 40 minutes to prepare, then allowing time for plates to be cleared etc… is completely unreasonable and ridiculous at the price point one is paying.
The blunt waiter who barely said anything other than to rush us definitely didn’t deserve the 12.5% tip that was auto added to our bill.
