Let’s start with the positive: the food was great. Their arrabbiata sauce is fantastic, as is their pizza. Their service, however? It leaves much to be desired. When 2 of our party of 4 first arrived, there was a few minute wait, which was fine. They started to head into the bar to grab a drink while they were waiting for the table to be ready but they were stopped by the hostesses who told them they were not allowing anyone to go to the bar because a large party was there ordering drinks. ??? I’ve never heard that one before but OK. So they waited up front. But as they stood waiting, the hostess then said to them “I’m sorry but we’re going to need to ask you to stand against the wall.” They looked around. There was no wall. Literally. No wall to stand against. So they moved a little off to the side. The hostess said it again: “I’m sorry but we need to ask you to stand against the wall.” They walked outside to wait. They were then “allowed” to go to the bar and order a drink. The other 2 of us arrived and we were all seated. No water for nearly 10 minutes. We finally ordered appetizers which were great but then when we later got the salads we were all sharing, they didn’t bring us new plates. They dropped off the salads and expected us to eat off the dirty appetizer plates that had red sauce all over them. I had to get our own new plates off one of the newly set tables. Then while we were still eating one of the salads, a woman (bussser?) came by and just took the salad we were all sharing off the table without so much as even looking at us, let alone asking whether we were done (which we weren’t). She took the plate and set it on the bar behind us. We literally got up and grabbed our plate back to eat the rest of our salad. When the entrees came ( which the 4 of us again were sharing), we had to ask for new plates. It’s a shame that with food so good their service is such a miss. Service matters and there are so many great options in Oceanside now.
